SCANDALous!

Last month, news about SCANDAL coming to perform live in Malaysia reached my newsfeed in Facebook. Being very excited, I went and bought early-bird tickets for me and some friends, Amanda, Weiss and Atticus after asking a group of my friends who want to go. Unfortunately after purchasing the tickets, Weiss and Atticus couldn't go. Weiss manage to sell her ticket but Atticus couldn't. The concert was held at KL Live Life Center on the 1st of December.

So yesterday after a horrible morning at college and some sleep time in the afternoon, I headed to the Life Center to meet Amanda for the concert. I got there at around 8pm plus and there was a long line outside heading into the stage. Amanda got there a little later than me and we went in together. By the time we got in, there was the opening performance already by some national artist singing Japanese songs, some which I feel that I've heard before.

After the opening, we waited excitedly for SCANDAL to make their appearance. When they finally came out, the crowd cheered like there was no tomorrow. Unfortunately for me, they performed quite a number of songs I haven't heard before. Fortunately, they played three of the four songs I hoped they perform: Shunkan Sentimental, Harukaze and Doll.

The amazing moments where when SCANDAL performed Shunkan Sentimental, where the whole crowd, sang along with them, also during Shoujo S. There was the usual talking to the fans and a couple of short talks in between songs. SCANDAL performed a new song they said, I didn't quite catch the title, it was something joyful or something like that. After they finished their performance, the crowd cheered for encore for about 5 minutes, the encore cheer were like, "Encore!", "Mou ikkai!", "Enkoru!", and of course, "SCANDAL!". They came back out and performed two more songs, the last one being Doll. It was freaking epic.

My third concert in my life and in this single year and once again I had a blast. When are ONE OK ROCK, Base Ball Bear, Abingdon Boy School and Orange Range coming to perform live in Malaysia? Or Singapore if they can't? (MAXIMUM THE HORMONE?) Haha.

Screw You Spam Bots!

If you frequent my blog (which is highly unlikely) you'd see that my chatbox is filled with spam by bots everyday, every hour of the week, month and year. So I removed it. That is all.

Anime Festival Asia 2012

From the 9th to the 11th of November, Anime Festival Asia or better known as AFA was once again held in Singapore at the Singapore Expo and it is it's 5th year running. It's biggest event was the Electric Groove: I love Anisong concert featuring 11 artists all the way from Japan divided into three days. I regretfully didn't go for any of the concerts due to inconveniences but I still had my share of excitement at AFA.

Months before, Cheryl, Misaki and I planned to go to AFA. During that time, I just got to know Snow who happens to be studying in the same college as us. With her friends Shusuke and Geraldine. Snow had arranged a group to go down to Singapore for AFA so Cheryl, Misaki and I just hopped in their group, I later learned that Laura wants to go as well, which was quite a surprise for me. After booking our accommodation and buying our bus tickets, all we had to do was wait for the exciting day. The total in the group are 9 of us excluding one guy who couldn't make it before we bought the tickets. Which comes down to what I had feared: I was the only guy, again. I was going down to Singapore with 8 girls and worst part is, more than half of them are yaoi fans.

Our bus leaves on the 10th, Saturday morning. We had to miss Day 0 of AFA. It's the day when event tickets are sold and the night where Electric Groove: I love Anisong's Electro Stage comes to live with the full solo concert of the truly amazing T.M.Revolution. Weiss had been screaming about going to their concert and she described herself as 'crying like a witch' after the concert. She was seriously overjoyed. The bus we were taking is the One Coach which takes us from One World Hotel to Singapore (not exactly sure where). The night before, Laura and I slept over at Cheryl's place and in the morning, Misaki came to pick me up while Cheryl and Laura waited for Cheryl's dad to get ready to bring them to 1Utama. We had breakfast at McDonald's the four of us together and then we headed to One World Hotel where our bus takes off. There I meet the others, Rosa and Julia; Rosa being the oldest and Julia being the youngest in our group. Long story short, all I did on the bus was watch anime and sleep (and listen to conversations).

We reached Singapore in 4 hours where to bus dropped us at the One Coach agency outlet. The rest of the building was pretty much deserted, closed, like everyone went on a holiday or something. We made our way out and took two cabs to our hostel, the Betel Box Backpackers Hostel in Joo Chiat. When we went to check in, problems arrise. Turns out that the hostel had rules about not letting people share beds. We had earlier thought of saving some money and sharing beds but we can't do that. So the five of them, Snow, Shu, Geraldine, Rosa and Julia took the room we booked (6-persons mix dorm) earlier and the remaining four of us, Cheryl, Misaki, Laura and I took the 20-persons mix dorm. We had some bad beginnings with the hostel but later on we find it splendid. One night in the hostel is $20 and you get a $3.90 coupon off any one meal at the Betel Box Cafe downstairs. There were lockers you can use, television you can watch, they had a pool table, free wi-fi, kitchen with a fridge, hot water and mugs, and computers that you can use for only 30minutes a day. They also provide activities and sightseeing brochures and other hostel locations. The beds in the 20-persons mix dorm are double-decker beds and all the bottoms are taken so the four of us chose the four closest beds and settled on the top bunks. So Misaki and I are on the same row while Cheryl and Laura are opposite us.

By the time we finished settling down, it was pretty late at around 6pm. We went down to the cafe to have dinner and we planned what to do after. It was too late to go down to the Expo for AFA Day 1 and Anisong's seconday day concert, the Jump Stage featuring Babymetal, FLOW, fripSide, LiSA and m.o.v.e. was about to start. We then decided to locate the MRT station near the hostel so that we know where to go the next morning. Using the map the receptionist gave us and with his guidance, we followed the map to the MRT station and back.

Back at the hostel, Cheryl, Misaki, Laura and I got to know Jeffrey, a Malaysian in his 50s working in Singapore. He told us various things, stuff like other good hostels, his life and his work. After his storytelling, we took our baths and we went up to Snow and the other's room. I just chilled around while the girls chatted (rather, squealing with excitement) about yaoi stuff while trying to keep their voices down because the whole hostel could hear them. Laura, being the only girl who's not a yaoi fan decided to play Team Fortress 2 on her laptop, to my dismay because I wanna play too!!

After all the hoo-hah, the four of us left the room and brought our laptops to the lounge and started doing our work. We can't really take a break on our trip because it's not even our holidays yet. Ugh. Misaki and I went to bed first. Our plan was to wake up at 5.30am and then get ready to go to the event at 7am. We had planned it for 6am but we found out that public transports don't start running until 7am on Sundays.

Cheryl woke me up at around 6am after the three girls were ready. In less than 10 minutes, I got ready and we went out to the lounge to meet the others. They were all in cosplay already and had most of their makeup done. Cheryl, Misaki and Laura decided to go to the event to get dressed instead. At around 6.30am, we all got up and left for the MRT station. We had to take the MRT down to Tanah Merah and then interchange to the Changi Airport line. The Expo is the station before the airport and when we were entering the Expo's station, we could see the whole Expo. It was really huge!!

AFA was held at Hall 7 and 8. The concerts are held at the Max Pavilion. When we got to the event entrance, we saw crowds sitting in front of the entrance waiting for the doors to open and we were relived to see that the que for the tickets were empty. After we bought our tickets, the girls all went to look for a toilet to get changed and put on their makeup. We went all the way to Hall 9 because the other toilets were locked. I sat outside and waited for them. I felt like forever! To think that I was so excited when we were walking towards the event and then, I'm bored like dried fish. Snow and the others came out first because they were done. However Cheryl and the others were not. So I followed Snow's group to have breakfast at Subway.

After a satisfying breakfast, we went back to the toilet to find that Cheryl and the others were not ready. Weiss was also there getting ready. Snow and the others decided to go in first so I followed after putting on my Cardboard box Gundam costume on (click on the link to learn more!).

In the event hall, wow. It was exciting at first but then, I got bored pretty fast because it was like any other ACG event hall, just more stuff to see. We went around the Sword Art Online booth, the Bandai booth, some other booths and then, I spotted it, the booth I planned to go to after seeing the map while waiting for the girls to get ready! THE POKEMON BOOTH! I ran over while the girls were looking at figurines. But to my huge disappointment, like finding a toothpick in a huge birthday present, the Pokemon booth was sad. It was only featuring Japan's newest Pokemon arcade game and some merchandises. Where are the  DS battles? Where are the TCG battles? Where? I was disappointed. I went back to the booth the girls were at and took a final look at the Pokemon booth. A television displaying various advertisements about Pokemon games and TCG were running and two (probably hired) cosplayers as the Pokemon Plus Nobunaga no Yabou (or the lame English name, Pokemon Conquest)'s main hero and Oichi. The girls were done and continued to walk on. As I followed them, I looked over to the Culture Japan booth (as usual it's bright orange with Mirai everywhere, ahh~) which is next to the Pokemon booth and among the few people I spotted Yun Hann. Like a natural reaction, I ran up to him and greeted him. He was clearly surprised. If Yun Hann was here, Jun Ee would definitely be as well. Yun Hann pointed him out over at the Pokemon booth. He was looking at the Pokemon posters on the back of the disappointing booth. Worried that I would get separated from the group, I excussed myself and went to find the Kuro no Basket cosplayers but I lost them so I went back and met up with Jun Ee and we started chatting. Jun Ee and Yun Hann got to AFA on Friday and they went for the TMR concert. Jun Ee discussed about his experience at the event so far. He was also disappointed about the Pokemon booth. Of course we would, we both grew up playing Pokemon TCG together. We had our own Pokemon games too. We were Pokemon fans! After chatting we walked together. Jun Ee gave me a brief run-through of all the booths in the event hall. Half-way through, we saw a crowd standing gathering at a booth. The booth was the Babymetal booth (featuring a little fox shrine and a group cut-out photo thing), seemed like they were coming so we stood there as well to try to get a look at them. For some reason, as we waited, we got pushed further behind until a wall of photographers were in front of us. Jun Ee was joking that they're a group of pedophiles waiting for the little girls to come out. Hahaha. We went to wait at the next booth were LiSA was gonna make an appearance. While we waited for LiSA, Babymetal walked pass behind us. I got to see the three members of the unique J-pop mixed heavy metal group in person but I couldn't take any pictures when they posed for the cameras because all the 'pedophiles' were blocking.

Anyway, after Babymetal left, LiSA's manager, Nishihara-san came out and talked to the audience (us). We were not allowed to take pictures and videos when LiSA comes out so I didn't get any. Sad. Jun Ee was saying how during AFA'11, LiSA was like a nobody, when he was fanboying over LiSA, everyone didn't know who she was. Now, because of Sword Art Online, LiSA suddenly became a boom and he said that he has to graduate from being a LiSA fan because she has become mainstream. Haha. I know how he feels, it goes the same for me with manga, especially when the manga becomes an anime and gets popular from it. We got to see LiSA in person and they were discussing about the concert and Singapore and future projects. When given the audience one question, a guy asked when will LiSA be coming to Malaysia (Yes! Good job whoever you are!). LiSA asked what's good in Malaysia and the only thing the Malaysians present thought of were our food. It was funny. After the little appearance, everyone dispersed from the booth and as the three of us left, we caught FLOW waking pass (without any bodyguards). A couple of fans who saw them quickly ran up to them and got their autographs and photos with them with the help of a Japanese staff member.

LiSA was going to the Sword Art Online booth to sign autographs and take pictures so I parted ways with Jun Ee and Yun Hann. I had no plans of getting stuck in a group of crazed fans in a small booth. We went around to see other booths and find the girls. I was lucky to find Cheryl and the others. Because I pretty much had looked at all the booths, the event was boring for me already. I did get some excitement seeing cosplayers cosplaying my favorite characters and a tall slenderman (a female cosplayer in stilts). The rest of the day I was the girl's lackey. Helping them carry their stuff around. We went for lunch in the food court in mall next to the Expo (I don't remember what mall it was). We went back and continued the usual stuff. I ended getting really tired. We met with Jean and the twins (I still don't remember their names... I only know the two of them as Hayashi Kirin, as one). We went around the doujin booths many many times. Unfortunately for me, I didn't have anything I wanted to buy and when I did, it was sold out. Hachioji-P's electric love feat. Hatsune Miku... Sob.

So I was running low on money so I didn't buy anything for myself. I bought a badge for my sister and that was it. Later the five of us went out and got out of cosplay. Cheryl, Misaki, Laura, Weiss and I sat outside Hall 9 and chatted. Soon, people started queuing up for the last night's Anisong concert, the Diamond Stage featuring Hachioji-P, May'n, Minami Kuribayashi, Sea☆A and Sphere. When the que started to go into the Max Pavilion, we decided to go back. After taking a photo with Weiss, we parted ways. The four of us took the MRT back. Earlier we had discussed with Snow and the others that at a specific time we should have gone back already so we thought Snow and the group had went back ahead of us.

When we got back, we were shocked to find that the others were not back yet. While I was worried, Cheryl said that it shouldn't be a problem because Snow's pretty responsible and Rosa's the closest to being the adult of the group. While we were unpacking our stuff (Me? I just sat around looking through the brochures I got). A man walked out of the bath and when we greeted him, he asked us if we felt cold last night because he was feeling very cold. That eventually lead to a conversation with him. The man was Christober from Spain. He loved Asia so he's been around looking for a job and a place to settle in. We chatted for a while but because I was tired, I rested at my bunk. When Snow and Shu walked into our dorm, I was really relieved. Being the only guy in the whole group puts a lot of responsibility on me (me putting them on myself really). The four of us decided to have dinner down at the cafe before it closes after bathing. While the girls when to bath, I fell asleep on my bunk. I'm not sure how long I slept and I forgot who woke me up but I took a quick bath and we went to have our dinner.

After filling ourselves with vegetarian curry and rice, the four of us went back up and we find Snow and the others at the lounge eating snacks and instant cup noodles. Cheryl, Misaki and Laura went back to the dorm to get their stuff but they got absorbed into listening to Christober's stories. I just at at the lounge passing the time. I was only waiting for the right time to buy a can of beer to enjoy because before the trip, I promised myself a can of beer because why not? Later, the girls came out of the dorm with Christober and they joined us. While most of were doing our work, Christober was very impressed and awed by Autodesk Maya. I eventually got my can of beer, a tall one because the hostel didn't have any of the normal cans. I think I got a little drunk? When I went to sleep, I didn't stay awake the moment I hit the pillow.

I woke up to the sounds of Cheryl and Misaki talking. I went to clean up and got changed and when Laura was ready, we went down to the cafe and had breakfast. Snow and the others just finished their breakfast so we arranged to meet at the lounge after our breakfast. Like I promised myself, I had the Betel Box Big Breakfast (or also known as the B4). It had a hash-brown, grilled mushrooms, grilled cherry tomatoes, fried bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs (to my favor of style), salad and a croissant. While we enjoyed our breakfast, we talked to the kitchen staff present at the cafe today. He talked about all kinds of stuff with us.

After our breakfast, we went back up and Cheryl checked out for us. We put our bags in the lounge after informing the receptionist about going sightseeing before coming back to get our luggage. After Snow and the others came down and checked out, we all headed out to the bus stop outside Joo Chiat Complex. We were heading to VivoCity Mall. Snow and the others wanted to go there and so we did. At the mall, we split into our two groups and we went our ways. First, Cheryl and Laura went to the toilet and then we went to a pharmacy because Laura had to buy stuff because she found out she had the 'whoosh'. We walked around seeing the shops.

We eventually came to a toyshop called ToyTag. At first glance, you'll see that the shop sells a lot of unique board games and sort you don't normally find in franchising toyshops like Toys'R'Us. I didn't see any Scrabble or Monopoly there. Very neat. They even had hobby gifts like Rubik's Cube mug, t-shirt (The Minecraft shirts attracted all of our attention), etc. After I was fascinated by a disk-ball toy, I spotted a Rubik's cube on the casher desk, but it wasn't the Rubik's cube that only caught my attention, I was drawn to the cube next to it that was just placed on the desk after I spotted the cube, it wasn't just any Rubik's cube, it was white and pillowed and I know of only one company that makes cubes like that. I kept my cool and examined some other board games while I kept taking short glances at the cube on the table, it was no mistake, that is definitely a V-Cube3. I walked up to the casher and had a look at it to confirm myself. The cashier turned around and greeted me. He saw I was looking at the cube so he started to promote it. "Oh, this just came in today. Cool right?". In a flash, all sort of excitement filled my head. I asked if I could try it out and the cashier said okay. Oh my god, it was like some kind of heaven, I've never felt a Rubik's cube so firm and so smooth turning in my hand. I did a quick mess up and a quick solve as Laura asked the cashier some questions regarding international shipping followed by introducing where we came from. The cashier probably saw the sparkle in my eyes and talked to me about the Rubik's cube. I told him about how I was always looking for V-Cubes and asked if they had the V-Cube6 and he said "Yes, we do. They all came in today.". My brain started to work, should I buy it? I have my debit card, it's international, I can purchase it, I didn't buy anything from AFA so if I get this, I won't go back empty-handed. Cheryl and Laura alerted me about the Giant GummyBears on display in the fridge display thing (that bakeries have to display cakes). I saw shocked, it was those Giant GummyBears that Vat19 had advertised before! And they had the Party Bear too! And then I realised that the shop itself was selling quite a number of things I've seen on Vat19, the Robot Ice Cube Maker that Cheryl picked for her brother was one of them! The cashier came back with the cube I always wished for. I asked for the price and he gave me the price for the Pillowed V-Cube3 and V-Cube6. I did some thinking and after Cheryl's purchase I took my debit card out and purchased the V-Cube6, with so much joy I felt like crying. I kept saying, "I don't care how happy you are today, I'm the happiest now!".

After following the girls to buy some chocolates, we headed back to the meeting point, the entrance we came in from and we headed out to the bus stop to catch the bus back to Joo Chiat Complex. It took quite awhile for the bus to arrive and time was running short, the others were getting worried. The bus finally came but later on the ride, we overshot our stop. Time was really a factor now, lucky for us, there were three cabs at a cab stop nearby and we quickly got in them to get back to the hostel. Shu's parents were gonna pick her up from the hostel because they came down to Singapore so we kept two of the cabs waiting and we grabbed our bags and headed to where the OneCoach bus we were taking was gonna leave. The cab driver in the cab I was in said that the cab Cheryl took was going a long way. So Misaki, Laura, Geraldine and I got to the place first. We were not sure if Cheryl, Snow, Rosa and Julia were already at the place already or not but we saw a OneCoach bus waiting so in desperation, Laura and Geraldine went up to the office to check and request that they wait for us. While Misaki and I were waiting for the two of them, Cheryl and others got there. Snow had all our tickets so after checking with one of the workers by the OneCoach present, we find that it's our bus, we quickly put our luggage into the bus. Because Laura and Geraldine were not down yet, Misaki went up to find them but after about two minutes, the two of them came back out without Misaki. Things were getting bad as the person in charge was urging us irritatedly to get on the bus and take off even after Cheryl's explanation. Lucky for us, Misaki got down in time and we departed feeling awkward.

After passing through the customs and on our way back to 1Utama, I immediately scrambled my V-Cube6. After about an hour and 45 minutes, I solved it using my knowledge from previous cubes. Luckily I didn't come across any parity errors. When we reached 1Utama, it was pretty late at around 9pm because of the Damansara jam. While everyone went home, Cheryl, Misaki, Laura, Rosa and I went to have dinner at Sakae Sushi. My family were still in Penang so I went to stay overnight at Cheryl's place as usual. Laura's family were not at home either and she didn't drive so she also stayed over.

My first ever AFA experience, I guess I'm a little disappointed in it. Because we've been to so many events the stalls and the ambience are becoming mundane. But I always look forward to them so the upcoming Comic Fiesta better be swell. Coming back from AFA I have one problem: I am broke.

JOTI 2012

This year I experienced my first Jamboree On The Internet (JOTI) ever. Held on the 20th and 21st of October, I didn't go as a participant, which is quite unfortunate because I can't get that experience, I went as an officer instead. Met new friends and got to briefly know some scouts (participants). Experiencing JOTI as an officer was quite a challenge though different from a participants point of view. Because I was in the Mac room, there were quite the number of problems with the IP addresses, password errors and sort. Some scouts kept asking questions and some just kept their questions to themselves, when I made my rounds I would catch a pair struggling to solve a problem (usually print screen) and they didn't want to ask until I approached them. The girls were more open and hence they were the ones to ask a lot of questions or communicate when I check their logbooks. Mr. Tony and I were in charge of the International Understanding Phase. There were six phases for the participants to choose and complete in order to get their JOTI badges. Based on the JOTI feedback on scouters, I have a feeling that most of the scouts mistook me for Mr. Tony or think that there are two Mr. Tonys. Hahaha. I sure am looking forward to next year's JOTI.

AniManGaki and Taylor's Asaban Fest 2012

This is gonne a be a fast post because both events were last month and I forgot to post them hence the post before this post because I forgot, I mentioned that I forgot, see how important forgetting is? I'm not making sense. Don't matter anyway, nobody reads this blogs besides bots who spam my chatbox.

AniManGaki
This year's AniManGaki, I was really excited because I would be cosplaying as Kumagawa Misogi from Medaka Box for the first time. Because you don't know because I don't update my blog, Kumagawa is my favorite character from Medaka Box (until the most recent chapter of Medaka Box revealed Hanten's face, now Hanten is in first place). Okay. Before the event I went to Amanda's house to work on Kumagawa's costume, got my screws done and my uniform sewed but it was incorrect but we didn't bother because it was the next day to debut. Blah!

I got to AniManGaki pretty early and met up with Amanda. We suited up and bought our tickets. Wooh! So excited! We went in, ventured around and then went back out. Excitement level drops down to zero. Amanda dragged me with a photographer and we got some photoshoots. Oh yeah, AniManGaki was held at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Hall. Okay. Long story short, two days, boring. Second day I cosplayed as Hanbei again together with Chery and Weiss. Boring boring boring. We talked about how ACG events used to be so fun but now it's all the same thing and it's boring already. Wow! I'm typing this really fast it's like words are flowing out of my head like a waterfall! Okay. I met with Mae Yen again, yay! Nee-chama~ Okay. End.

Taylor's Asaban Fest
This year's TAF was a week right after AMG. BAM! It was really small. Okay! First day I didn't cosplay because I had bought tickets to JRock no Tamashii 3.

-Intermission- "Oh would you look at me, I saved this as a draft and forgot about it again."

I had planned so that I would spend the time at Asaban and then go for the concert. Because of a few things (which I forgot, or was it because I had class? No, that can't be right? I guess?) I went in the afternoon. There, I met with my old pal Jun Ee, lecturer, Charmaine (who was selling her old cosplay stuff with some friends), and others, to my dismay, I can't remember (or was it because I only met these few people?). For the first time after two years, I meet Atticus in person. We've been trying to look out for each other at events but no such fate. There was nothing much at Asaban honestly, Jun Ee was kinda down (and very very tired) because he was the current president of the Taylor's Anime Club (Lakeside). I was in time for band performances, to my surprise, metal bands. Jun Ee was surprised too because he didn't think that the president of the Taylor's Anime Club (Subang) had arranged such bands. The first band was okay. I've heard of their name before (which my memory fails to recall).

I spent my time walking around and around. I stopped at Starbucks to use the internet (and help myself to a Java Chip). Evening came and I got together with Jun Ee again. This time I meet (or rather meet again) with Yun Han. We were in the same class in primary school so yeah. Reunion!

Anyway, we had dinner at Face to Face. Jun Ee was really, really, very tired. Poor guy, he didn't sleep a wink and because he was president, he was called to solve problems that occur and greet guests and stuff. After dinner, we headed back to the hall for the concert. I met with Grace again, someone who I haven't really seen in two years and her friend (again, my memory fails me). We went in and I got front seats! Okay, there wasn't really any seats because it was all standing. So, I got front standing!

So a bunch of Malaysian J-Rock bands performed, time passed, I met Pamela, David (Pam's brother) and Alexander in the concert hall. Then finally, HaKU. Who? Same question I asked when I bought the tickets but despite not knowing anything about them, I was so so so so so curious about their music and I did not regret going to the concert at all because HaKU is freaking awesome. A four men band consisting of 3 guys, vocals and lead, second guitar, drums and 1 girl for base guitar. I was in total awe. Their music was 'WHOA' and the basist (the girl, duh) was a bigger 'WHOA'. She was literally into the music, swinging round and round, jumping, skipping and twirling non-stop, jamming on her base guitar, song after song. Now that I think about, I wonder if she had one too many Red Bulls. Anyhow, HaKU, awesome band. They're new even in Japan so it's no surprise I couldn't find them in Google (in English sites).

So the end. Finally.

Notice the difference of writing styles? The speed and details? Yeah, procrastination does that to you.

Oh. I forgot about Day 2. Guess what? I'm just gonna continue from the end of this post.

Day 2, I went to Asaban in the afternoon again because my mom went shopping and dragged me with her. I went there, met Cheryl, Greg, Za and Erika. Cheryl helped me with my Kumagawa cosplay. Then she went back with Greg. I spent the rest of my day there with nothing much to do. At night there was the omatsuri. Yeah. End.

Untitled

There was something I wanted to blog about but I forgot what it was so I put this empty post instead as to at least update my blog once in a while.

Saturday, August 4, 2012

Oh Save Me...

I looked back at my post titled, "2012" and I realised how much I am not really looking forward to what time year has installed for me. Ugh... There's only one week left for me to completely finish my CG Modeling final project and I'm about 60% done only. Screwed beyond the galaxy's arms.

AFAMY 2012

Anime Festival Asia (AFA) came to Malaysia for the first time this year. As an international-level event, I had a lot of expectations for the event. There was gonna be the usual event hall, a stage hall and of course, the Anisong concert. AFA Malaysia was announced to be held at Putra World Trade Center on the 9th and 10th of June.

If I remember correctly, Weiss had requested me to join her Samurai X cosplay group as Seta Soujiro and so I agreed. In May, I had planned to stay a night in a hotel so it'll be easier for us to go to the event because tickets are only sold on the event day itself. Despite that, we had purchased Anisong tickets before, which comes with a hall and stage excess tickets.

Anisong was my very first concert and why did I suddenly want to go to a concert? Simple, the names in the list of Japanese artists coming to perform caught my interest. Kalafina, FLOW, Kotoko and Kurosaki Maon caught my attention. Other artists I've never heard of were Aimi and SeaA. The artists were split into two days, Anisong Day 1 were Kurosaki Maon, Kalafina and Aimi and Anisong Day 2 were FLOW, Kotoko and SeaA.

I was definitely looking forward to the event. I was finally gonna cosplay again!

Day 1

Let's skip the morning. By now if you read my blog you should know I got classes in the morning. Screw The One Academy.

My dad picked Emmanuel and I from college and we headed to PWTC. There was a horrendous jam so I we reached there later than planned. My mood was rock bottom but to look forward to cosplaying and seeing her kept my mood at bay.

When we reached PWTC, we first went to check into the hotel I booked, a recommendation from Weiss because it was near and cheaper than the other hotels around, Comfort Hotel. It was less impressive from how I imagined it but the room didn't look too bad. A month before I had asked some of my friends if they wanna stay in the hotel with me. I got Yati, Kin Yen and Ang Yu to join me. Then Weiss, who had too many people in her room tossed to me one of her friends and a Samurai X cosplay groupmate, Elie to our room.

After checking in, my dad dropped Emma and I at PWTC and our adventure begun (actually just mine because Emma went home to Yumi's). We met up with Yumi, who directed me to the event hall where Weiss was waiting for me. Along the way, I caught Kin Yen and Ang Yu and then finally we got to the event hall. Weiss was almost ready so I went ahead and got into my Takenaka Hanbei costume. Weiss and I had no plans for Saturday because Cheryl and the others were not coming on Saturday and so we decided to do a mini-Samurai Warriors cosplay before the big one on Sunday. While getting ready, Yati came to find us, with him came Kar Loke. He went back after meeting me because he has been there for half the day and wanted to go home already.

After we were done, Weiss took me around in the event hall. There were mostly booths selling anime goods. The moment we went in, Weiss's friend, Angie rushed to the booth were Danny Choo was at. Apparently we got in at a good time and she got to have both Danny and world famous, Jimmy Choo's pictures and autographs. Another famous booth I recognise was the Good Smile Company, they had some Figmas and Nendroids on display. At the back of the event hall were the Moe-Moe Kyun! Maid Cafe and the Atelier Royale Butler Cafe. As expected, there was a long queue going in. Weiss said she had to wait in line for three hours before she got in and the food were overpriced (as expected as well).

After making a few rounds and posing for pictures, Weiss and I went to get changed out and then we wanted to take our props back to the hotel so Kin Yen, Weiss and I headed to the hotel while Angie, Yati and Ang Yu waiting in line for the concert. When we got back, the line was gone as everyone went in already. It wasn't as crowded as I imaged it but we were too late and we had to be at the back. Somehow, Weiss manage to squeeze her way to the front of the free standing zone with Ang Yu and Angie, Yati was somewhere else. Because we bought free standing tickets, we were placed at the back but it wasn't too bad because it was still my first concert ever (if I don't take the Tokio Hotel concert into account because I didn't pay for it nor stood in the concert area). Kin Yen and I stood all the way at the back of the crowd.

First on the stage was some unknown local who sang some Japanese songs and greeted us 'ohaiyo' despite the fact that it was evening. Then came in the real thing, Kurosaki Maon walked in and sang two songs before greeting and talking to us. I don't listen to her songs but I know she debuted in High School of The Dead. After almost an hour on stage, singing about seven songs? I can't really recall. Near the end after one of Kurosaki Maon's debut songs, the crowd cheered 'encore' while she was still on stage. Hahaha.

After Kurosaki Maon was Aimi. After a song, she greeted us and invited a translator to aid her. Apparently this concert was Aimi's third time in Malaysia but it's the first time for her to be on a big stage. After another three songs, one of them being Hare Hare Yukai which made me jump up and down in excitement, singing along and doing some of the dance moves like a monkey (also chasing away someone who was standing next to us).

After Aimi left the stage and a short silence, the crowd started cheering for the group that I bet majority of the people there were waiting for. The name, Kalafina was chanted over and over intensely, and then the most epic opening started.

Magica, if you have heard the song, in live is ten times more epic than on my iPod. It was bloody shit-ass mother kicking awesome! It was the most epic opening I've heard, ever! (Because it's my first concert after all) Kalafina went on with Lacrimosa, sprinter, Kimi ga Hikari ni Kaete Yuku, destination unknown and To The Beginning. After Kalafina said their goodbyes and left the stage, the crowd cheered for an encore. We obviously want them to come back to the stage, they haven't sang Oblivious yet! The crowd kept cheering but then the thank you speech from the organizers came on, the cheering died down a little but some people kept on cheering for an encore. After the lights came on, people started leaving.

After we got out, people were queuing to get Kalafina's autographs on their After Eden albums. Kin Yen and Angie wanted one so they went ahead and bought an album each. I was tempted to do the same but I held back. I do regret doing so. Ang Yu, Weiss, Yati and I waited outside the queue so we can see Kalafina up close. It was awkward when they came out because we were sitting down on the floor without our shoes. The three members walked out and saw us when waving to the crowd of fans. Ang Yu who wasn't sitting down got to see them really up close because she stood by the fence. I should have not sat down, damn.

While Kin Yen and Angie went to get their autographs, Yati, Weiss and I headed back to the hotel. Weiss's room is directly above ours, earlier she dumped her stuff in my room so she came to our room to collect them and went back to hers. She later came back with Elie and she forgot to introduce us and left in a huff. Funny. We did a small introduction and then the awkward silence ensues. Yati and I did little chatter with each other. We waited for Kin Yen, Ang Yu and Angie to return so we can go have supper but it was taking a really long time. I got worried after some time and called Kin Yen but it didn't get through so I called Ang Yu instead. Turned out they got lost and I tried to get them back on the right track but they took three wrong turns before finally getting to the hotel, drenched because of the rain.

Kin Yen and Ang Yu decided not to have supper (because they had a meal before the concert) so only Yati, Angie, Weiss and I went down to the mamak just next to the hotel. After our meal, we went back up to the rooms.

After my bath, we all chilled around on the bed and played Monopoly Deal. Weiss and Angie came down to our room and we all went hyper while Kin Yen, Ang Yu, Yati and I played a sentence game where each of us has to say a set number of words every time we speak (did that make sense?). It was hilarious and all of us were going nuts.

Late in the morning at around 3am we decided it's lights out. Sunday's gonna be a busy day after all. I didn't see her at the event and I knew that she would not go for the second day. Sigh.

Day 2

I woke up half-awake with my face in the pillow I was sleeping on. My biological clock had woke me up before the alarm on my handphone rang. Before I could go back to sleep, the opening of Katayoku no Tori broke the silence in the hotel room and I got up to switch it off. Knowing that we should head out to get ready at PWTC, I quickly went to clean up.

When I was done, I woke Yati up and then Elie. Kin Yen and Ang Yu woke up. They had told me that they won't be going for the second day so they want to stay longer in the hotel room. Weiss soon came barging into our room and we quickly got our bags packed and ready. Goodbye hotel!

Weiss, Elie, Yati and I made our way to PWTC and we propped our stuff at the sitting area out at the PWTC main entrance. Weiss shooed Yati and I to get changed first. We were gonna do our Samurai X cosplay today. So Yati and I made our way to the toilet and I got changed into my Seta Soujiro costume, problem is, my hakama is too long and Weiss forgot to help me out last night (due to being hyper and all).

Yati and I made our way back to the chairs and Weiss and the others went to get changed and left Yati and I alone with some guy. I went to buy my hall pass and had some biscuits for breakfast. That guy soon left because of the awkward silence. While waiting for Weiss and the others, our group's Kenshin (later she introduced herself as Misao) came over to us. We did our introductions and continued to wait for Weiss and the others. It took them about an hour to get dressed and come back and then things became active again. Misao proceeded to help me out with my hakama.

While we were still getting dressed, putting on make up and stuff, the PWTC staff came and shooed us away from the lobby because some big shot was going to pass by or something like that but whatever. All of us made our way to the event hall and we were ready. I checked if I have all my things and shock! My handphone, it was not in my kimono (I slotted my stuff into my kimono). Yati and I rushed back to find my handphone and luck was on my side, I got Yati to call my phone and a guy answered. When we got back to the sitting area, it turns out the person who found my phone was one of our Samurai X group members, Rong Tau. We went back to the hall later but I left Yati to help Cheryl and the others, also finding Antho and Mei because they were lost. I left the Samurai Warriors group and went back to my Samurai X group and after everyone was ready, we started attending to the anticipating photographers.

After awhile, we had decided to grab lunch. Rong Tau and Wong Sifu wanted to go to McDonald's and asked us if we want too. Yati and I decided to go with them. We had to walk out of PWTC to the mall opposite, The Mall to get our lunch. McDonald's was crowded! Everyone from the mall and from the event were there for lunch. Rong Tau manage to get us a table shared with two cosplayers from Penang. After Yati and I finished our lunch, we excused ourselves first and headed back to the event hall. At the event hall, we moved into the hall together as the Samurai X group.

Around 4p.m. Weiss and I left the group to get changed into our Samurai Warriors cosplay. The rest of the day was slow moving. We went into the hall a couple of times together but we always get stopped for pictures. Around the time when we were about to stop, a Japanese cameraman requested us to speak for his video that will be presented in Japan. Around closing time, we started to get out of our costumes and packed our things up.

It was the end of AFA. Yay. I delayed. This post for two months. I don't even remember how I got home. Hahaha. The end.

Event Day

This year's C2AGE is special, for the first time, the event runs for three days. It was supposed to be superb to me.

I had actually planned to go all three days but on the very same Sunday, there was a scout activity I wanted to go to so I narrow it down to Friday and Saturday. But then my dad did not want to drive me down to Tropicana City Mall on Friday so I only went on Saturday. But I have class on Saturday, so I only went in the afternoon.

Saturday morning I woke up, got dressed and headed for college. I was excited and I couldn't wait for class to end. I was going to meet her so the more I wanted to class to end. Class went by boringly.

At 1pm, class was finally over. I rushed out to the bus station outside Sunway Pyramid to catch the bus down to Kelana Jaya. If I could reach KJ in time, I would catch the free shuttle to Tropicana City Mall at 1.30pm. Fortunately I got there in time, caught the shuttle and reached the mall.

She had informed me that she went to KDU after spending some time in C2AGE to see MGCC. So I waited for her to come back by looking for Antho, Cheryl, Misaki and Greg. Cheryl, Misaki and Greg were cosplaying Kingdom Hearts while Antho was just the cameraman. I was supposed to join them as a group but because of bad time arrangement I didn't get my measurements done for my Organization XIII cloak and also because of Saturday class. After chilling with them for awhile, I went back to meet up with her at Ninja Joe because I haven't had lunch yet and I didn't know what I want to eat and I only had Ninja Joe once in my whole life, so this makes the second.

Silly me, I thought I was fast enough and I went to the side entrance to wait for her. Turned out she got back faster than I had expected and was waiting for me at Ninja Joe already. After grabbing my bite and chatting with her, we went back up to the event because I didn't get a good look around when I got there. I was fascinated by the huge border-less television showing the DotA2 competition (Yes, I got hooked to DotA2 recently because I got the beta key). I bought a J-Rock Tamashii t-shirt and that was it. It was the end. There was nothing much to see because the whole event area was taken up by commercial goods (anime DVDs, anime merchandise, anime bla bla bla that I won't buy, etc.) and the games section. It's so compressed that the doujin booths are clumped together like sardines in a can.

There was nothing to see. I think it was because of the class I had earlier in the morning and the bad arrangement this year, I lost my enthusiasm for the event. Knowing that Kin Yen and Ang Yu are around, we asked them if they wanna go have a look at MGCC at KDU. After some hesitation, we headed there.

Earlier Kuui had asked me to see MGCC so I guess I had kept my promise? We met up with Kuui but turns out we were there late. The event ends at 6pm and it was closing in to closing time. Kuui came to get us after I called him and he lead us to the event hall. The event was small and it was more focused to the western culture of comics and games. She told me that when she was here earlier, Alodia was seeing fans. I was shocked because, a famous cosplayer is at a game convention instead of an anime convention? I only know Alodia by name anyway, not much of a fan so it didn't bother me much. I went around seeing the booths. Nothing much caught my attention. The thing that sure caught my attention (and pretty much everyone else with me) was the Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 game going on. It's free to play so Kin Yen and I got in line and waited for our turn.

She had to go home so she left. Anyway, Kin Yen and I waited for our turn but here's the juicy part. Some kid brat (about the age of 7?) was playing the game with some adult. Obviously the adult was winning like apple juice. I don't know what winning like apple juice is like but stick with that. After two games, the adult passes the console to the next person, a friend or brother or minion or gofer of the kid brat (around the same age as the kid imbecile?). The friend/brother/minion/gofer's body language was easy to read, he waited too long to want to play and he doesn't wanna stay here any longer. The friend/brother/minion/gofer/poor soul played the game without any enthusiasm. He kept getting owned over and over and over again by the kid imbecile. And that kid imbecile kept on his over-excited reactions using the same characters over and over again (Iron Man, Nova and Hulk or Ghost Rider). What made me even more annoyed is that this is freaking Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3! Which part of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 do they not understand?! The both of them keep using Marvel characters only! The same ones over and over! This is not Marvel vs Marvel! It's Marvel vs Capcom! Use Capcom characters puny imbeciles! Anyway, after five rounds, the friend/brother/minion/gofer/poor soul got fed up and put down the console. Kin Yen and I thought, "Okay! It's our turn!", but no~ The kid scum grabbed the console and passed it to a baby! A freaking baby! Like 3 or 4 years old! Or 5! The baby didn't know what buttons to press and started crying at the character select screen! I was going berserk in my head! I was wanted to grab the kid scum's head and holler in his face, "LET ME SHOW YOU ULTIMATE MARVEL VS CAPCOM 3!!!"and do a Senretsukyaku. Okay, that was a little mean. I just wanted to do a Shichisei Ranka. The kid scum got the baby to leave and the friend/brother/minion/gofer/poor soul/slave to play with him again. Kin Yen got impatient from the kid dunce and spoke up. An adult watching the game helped him out and talked the kid degenerate. He finally left. Bless the stupidity of my youngest sister!

Kin Yen and I got down to play. But crap. The last time I played MvC3 was on Xbox. I don't know how to play it on PS3! Anyway, we had fun (I finally got to use Phoenix Wright! So happy! Too bad I forgot to use Frank West...). It lasted only 3 rounds because the event was closing and time was up.

And that ends the event and this post.

Waiting

Once upon a time, there was a young man. This young man had just returned from a class trip outstation and he was suppose to catch a movie the whole world has been anticipating. Unfortunately for them, the tickets was sold out and they have no reason to stay at the mall designed after the Great Sphinx of Giza complete with a pyramid.

The young man's friends left leaving him. For he has no car and his parents unable to pick him up, the young man goes to a different place and thinks of people he can pass the time with. The first person who came to mind was a young lady younger than he is. She is a special person to the young man but she has already a partner. The young man thinks of the next person in mind, a young man of the same age as him, but that man has no form of transportation to meet with him, he is crossed out. The young man thinks some more, a young man younger than he is, a junior he spends time with occasionally. Alas, that young man is spending the night with his partner and the young man, not wanting to disturb the two of them crosses him out. The young lady comes to the young man's mind again. Gathering his courage, he gives her a call.

The young man explains to the young lady his unfortunate situation and she invites him over to her location, a friend's house near a mall the two of them has spend time together before. Sprinting out of his location, he catches the bus with high hopes as dark clouds curtain the skies and hides the face of the Sun.

The young man needs to take another bus which he has to wait for at the station he got off. After a few exchanges of messages with the young lady, the young man stopped receiving her messages just before she could tell him the address of her friend's home. The young man panics but being the patient one he is, he waits and waits and waits. The bus finally arrives but he has not gotten her message. He waits some more.

As the young man reaches the mall, the skies showers upon the Earth, drenching it in water. Upon reaching the mall, the young man gives the young lady a call. Unfortunately her phone could not be reached. He dials her another time after some time but to no avail. He continues to dial her number, not wanting to give up. The young man ponders the reason of the failure in reaching her phone. Could it be that she is out of range? Could it be that her phone has run dry? He ponders and wonders. Still, he waits.

The young man finally walks to the last memorable place he sat with the young lady, the coffee franchise outlet. He waits and waits, with his unwavering patience and with great concern and worry, he waits.

Two hours pass. The young man sits down in the cafe and orders a cup of Joe. The time was far too late for him to venture out and search for the location of his beloved but he hasn't given up hope yet. His phone rings  and he excitedly picks it up when he sees the young lady's name on the register. She apologize because her phone had run dry. Relief spreads through the young man for she is safe. He does not understand why he was so worried about her. After the short talk, the two cut the lines and another call reaches the young man's phone. His mother calls, informing him that they will get him in an hour. The young man explains to his mother that he plans to go out to find the location of his friend. Alas, upon hearing the message, his mother denies him from venturing out in the late.

The young man sits alone in the cafe. Until his parents arrive, he wonders if there will be a future where he will be together with the young lady. The young man once again decides, that he will wait. He will wait until the day he will be the reason to the young lady's happiness. He will wait and take his chances. He will wait as long as he can. He knows he can wait. He doesn't know when to move. He just waits until he gets a solid answer.

I'm waiting for you.

It's Been Awhile

...since I last updated. I guess this is part of growing up.

My semester break started. It's nothing much special now...

It's another year for scouting. This is just the beginning maybe.

I went for my first blood donation in February with some of the Rover H members. It was a meaningful activity and I'm left with the intention to donate blood again in the next blood donation activity. I met with some of the newer members of our crew.

Annual General Meeting came to a conclusion with me as a member of the executives, my post is the Assistant Communications Officer. The Communications Officer and the assistant posts are newly added to organise and update the Rover H website. I'm now of assistance to Timothy.

Last month I went to help out at 157th's Tenderfoot Training Course. It's been a year since I last returned to my troop and I met up with my younger juniors who are new in the crew. The camp lasted two days. Kin Yen decided to join Rover H. Also, I stayed over at Kin Yen's house for a few days during my last few days before semester break as his parents were away.

Seeing how poor the spirit of the new juniors are in scouting, I decided to step in and do whatever I can to bring them up.

Yesterday I was helping out at the Petrol Leader's Training Course 2012. It was just one day but it sure was exhausting.

Right now, I'm working on an animation project to make an opening video for the new Rover H (Hawk Rovers) website. It will be called the Hawk Rovers Productions. There were a few complications (quite a lot actually) but I have found a few alternatives and it's sort of progressing now.

I caught a fever last week. It was a horrid week. Now I have backlashes of headaches. I wish I can sleep longer.

I guess I'll try to update this blog more often.

It's Level100!

After many years of playing Pokemon, I have finally achieved a dream I had when I started playing. I manage to level up my Sigilyph up to level100 (duh, the title is so obvious). No, I didn't use any Rare Candy and no I never left it in the Day Care Center. It was pure training and training alone.

I feel so proud. Sniff.

Parents: Hax Prosecutors

"Parents, master of irrationality and hypocrisy among others. If it's a false baseless judgement, don't care about it, knowing that it isn't the truth." - K.Y.Lee

Every weekday, my mom goes to work from morning to evening, she leaves the house at 6.45a.m. and comes house at 7.00p.m. to 8.00p.m. Without any knowledge of what is going on in the house, she would not bother to think of what I do during the duration of time I'm not home but thinks of what she expects me to do and that is house chores, of course, any teenager and young adult would hate cleaning especially when it's got nothing to do with their personal belongings. Honestly, I give little shit about the condition of the house because to me, as long as it is a house, it's a house. I don't care about having it squeaky clean and what not, as long as one can stay in it, it's as good as having a meal of plain rice.

While my mom is not home and I'm at home, I would usually be doing my assignments, of course not the whole freaking time, I'm not a robot, I'm not a top student who is so eager to get the top of the class just to show off that I'm oh so smart. I would take ridiculous amounts of breaks in between work but just to clarify, I do get serious about work occasionally and focus.

After a whole day of doing assignments, I would leisure myself in playing Team Fortress 2, a reward to myself after a hard day's work. The problem is, that is at night, the other problem is, my mom is home most of the time at night, the next problem is parents are judgmental beings that do not intend to find a truthful base to support their accusations in other words, no evidence to back their claims.

Truth is everything and truth is only truth when evidence is present and I hate people who accuse without evidence. The world is a huge court and parents are the prosecutors that do not need to have evidence to bring down their children's "guilt". It's a one-sided battle where the child will always be sentenced guilty regardless of evidence and witnesses, parents are always "right". Even the mighty Phoenix Wright would not be able to win a court case of this kind. Parents will always deny the truth and see their own "truth" and will plough their way through like a locomotive to destroy the real truth and dismiss it as they see fit to bring their "justice".

Parents, professional liars.

That Special Birthday Of Mine

Last Friday was my birthday and all I did was stay at home and play games (Tetris Battle and Team Fortress 2) practically the whole day.

Marcus had called me to go to 1Utama previously to celebrate my birthday by hanging out and having cake but on Saturday itself, he said that they failed to buy the cake, I had already suspected something since Marcus's call. We, Marcus, Kuui, Yati, Kar Loke, Josh, Luke and I went for a lunch at Sakae Sushi after walking around aimlessly before playing a game of pool and then catching The Darkest Hour. After that, Marcus said we're gonna go to Kuui's house to play Naruto. Since Kar Loke and Marcus were driving, we split into two groups. I had to go to Bata to find new shoes for Chinese New Year so I did and they didn't have my size so, oh well. We headed out.

Along the way, Kuui and Yati tried their best to trick me into thinking that we took the wrong road and went towards the direction of the park near the BU Community Hall. In the call Marcus made, he accidentally spilled it by telling me we're gonna have cake at the park so I saw it coming. The surprise was Vicky was there with the cake, also Hee Ching was there too. After the traditional birthday song, they tried to make me get my face as close to the cake as possible so that they can shove my face in but I resisted all the way. Kuui even tried to slap cake on my face after it was served but he fail because the tissue the cake was on flipped and saved me.

While Vicky and Hee Ching went back home, I pulled out my old softball glove and the rubber baseball Kuui got for me and we played around a little. When Marcus got back (he dropped Vicky home), we all headed to Centerpoint. It's Left4Dead time.

We played until it got dark at Blitzone then went back to 1U to have dinner at Chili's. We went to look for Melvin who took a part time job at the wine section at Jusco. His shift was almost over so we got a bottle of wine and went for Chili's together. Through the whole day, Kuui made me not pay for anything, he paid for me, that made me feel bad. At Chili's though, he ran out of cash, I finally got to pay for my meal. FINALLY! Hehe.

My dad called me so I couldn't have wine with my friends. Think again! I told my parents about what we were going to do so they dropped me back at the BU Community Hall where my friends had gathered for the wine and I got to sleep over at Kar Loke's. I just didn't have a change of clothes but oh well, had wine.

Yati was sleeping over at Kar Loke's too. I played his Project Diva that night which sparked me to want a PSP to just play Project Diva (and maybe God Eater).

Next morning, Kar Loke's dad took the whole family and the two of us to have dim sum. After the meal, we went back, lazed around for a while and headed to Josh's house to pick him up and then headed to Centerpoint where Marcus and Kuui were waiting for us. I don't know why but Yati and Kar Loke did not want to play L4D with us so we went ahead, played a whole map and then attempted to play Starcraft but the whole thing lagged and crashed so we left. After lunch at KFC, we went to Marcus's house to spend the time. While the others played PS3, Marcus let me see his anime disk collection and lent me a bunch of anime. We played a racing game before parting our ways.

Kar Loke dropped Josh and I at The Curve and we hanged around a bit before Josh left to join his parents. My family came later on and we had dinner at Bubba Gump.

3 days of celebrating my birthday, an almost surprise by my good old highschool friends and fantastic dinners. This year is probably the most fun I had celebrating my birthday. Thanks everyone.

2012

Oh hey, it's a brand new year. I'm looking forward to another year full of experience, inspiration and ideas. While 2011 was coming to an end, I went back to my parent's hometown in Penang and visited my grandparents, meaning no internet. I was 'disconnected from the world' for a week. I guess I got some inspiration in that duration without internet, did I?

Unfortunately for me, I slept through the new year fireworks and had to attend a funeral for my late aunt on the 1st. Even so, it's a memory I won't forget, probably the first time I cried on a new year's day.

Classes in college has resumed. Pretty early I guess and my birthday's around the corner, another year older huh. Not that exciting but I'm looking forward to hanging out with my friends this weekend and the birthday dinner with my family.

I had a lot of artistic plans for the December holidays but like usual, I got really lazy and left a painting of bacon strips in progress.

Whatever this year has installed for me, I can't wait!
