A KDU Morning

It was just any normal morning.

NO!

It was a morning where the softball team members will get their gold medals for getting first place in MSSD! Woot! Woot!

After getting back to class, Cik Rajis suddenly popped her head into our classroom door and told us to grab our pencils and calculators and that we are going to KDU for a math and science competition. Almost the whole class roared with joy. Jak over did it.

5A was also going to KDU of the competition and we went out of school to the buses that were waiting for us outside. In the bus, Cik Rajis explained to us that she had not informed us about this competition was because we had history class today (the day of the competition) and was worried that the principle (our history teacher) won't let us go but turned out that she was caught up with some meetings and couldn't come to class.

When we reached KDU, a group of pre-u students greeted us and showed us the way to the auditorium. Inside, we saw many other school students sited and some lady was on stage guiding the incoming students to their seats. We sat in a long row and I sat some where near the front.

We were given a welcome speech by some people who were related to the high posts in the collage and then the test started. It ended pretty fast as it was half an hour. Then we had a tour around the collage, obviously some promotion to get us interested in the collage, while eating our lunch they provided. We went into the biology lab and watched students dissect a mouse, our class got excited and remembered the dissection of our frogs.

We went around the school and went "Ooo.... Aaahhh..." and then went back to the auditorium. We had the prize giving and then we went back to school. Our school student (what ever his name was again... Beng's nephew...) from 5A got first place!

When we got back to school, we had no class as nobody had the mood to study~

RrrBit!

Whee~ HA!

We finally got to do cool stuff in the biology lab! Dissecting a frog! We were suppose to do this activity last year but we did not for some unknown reason.

Anyway, our group, consisting of Xin, Ken, Beng, Joshua, Jak and I had discussed who should buy the frog. We kept pushing the job around for weeks until the last day, Xin went to some restaurant and bought one bull frog.

And guess what?! He named it Fat Eddie and decided to save it instead of dissecting it!

After assembly, we went back to class first to put our bags down and we started comparing our frogs to see who's is larger. Of course, Fat Eddie won, second was Karj's Alexander who he also did not want to dissect it. Sam agreed to give Karj and us his two extra frogs and we went to chloroform our frogs. Xin played around with Fat Eddie and the new frog. We first watched Kelly's group perform their dissection on their little froggy. It was really neat and tidy like any girl job. Hahaha.

We were the last to chloroform our frog and it was a slow process because it was kinda big as well. While we waited for our frog to die, I went to look at Karj's session and hell, it was horrible. Karj's frog was already dead from the beginning because it's ribs were crushed, so Karj got impatient to get the heart and cut off the frogs head and stuck his fingers down the revered part and yanked the heart out. Then he started cutting the frog here and there exploring the insides of a frog. Extremely gross! But cool at the same time! Yeah!

When our frog K.O.ed, we started the procedure by pinning it to the dish thingy and then Xin took control of the dissection. I took pictures and videos instead using both Xin's and my camera. When we just cut open the stomach, thick black substances started pouring out. Teacher told us to continue cutting and we found more of this black substance. I noticed that the substance had little white dots in them and we found out that these were eggs! There were every where! Under and around every organ! It was like some kinda slime that sludged an area of a factory or something! After digging out the eggs, we proceeded to find the heart. The camera had died so I wasn't doing anything and teacher asked me to try. Xin and Yubs found the heart and we had to cut one of the veins that hold the heart in place. Teacher gave me the scissors and told me to cut it. But instead, I cut the heart and blood oozed out. Darn it!

We were the last to finish so after cleaning up, we left the lab as the next class came into the lab. Aaron from 5C saw us and got excited. Hahaha, the chain of excitement.

Xin playing around with Sam's frog, got a lot of attention and got Kelly and the gang laughing.

Aaahh!! Biambia!! Ohhmalueh.... It's Simba! I mean, the frog!

Doctor Xin in da house!

Skinned. You can see the color produced by the eggs on the muscular layer.

Argh! Eggs!! They felt soft, and sticky. I remembered someone tasting it.

Gross out! Frog eggs all over the place!

See the frog's head?

Games! Action! Cosplay!

The ACGC or Anime, Cosplay and Games Convention was held at the Tropicana City Mall a few months ago. I had asked SenzO to go with me as it was my first time and using SenzO as a guide as he is my anime sensei. I got there late thanks to the traffic on the way and SenzO kept sms-ing me asking when I was gonna arrive. When I got there, I searched for SenzO in the crowd and found him at the Cosplay Hangout Area. I was blown away when I saw real cosplayers in front of my eyes!

There were stalls everywhere with games, figurines and the most attractive thing, cosplayers around the place! I was so excited I forgot about lunch. SenzO told me that his camera died so we had to rely on mine. We strolled around the Cosplay Hangout Area and took pictures, I noticed quite a few anime characters I recognise but was still disappointed by the number of cosplayers there. There was Naruto, Bleach, Death Note, Rozen Maiden, Macross Frontier and many more. Probably the most number of cosplayers for an anime was Soul Eater.

We went around the stands and people were giving away free stuff. There was also a Nintendo corner where visitors get to try out Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS. SenzO got attracted by the group of people playing some computer games and I stuck around watching some poeple play Grand Theif Auto 4.

Later I saw the cutest thing ever! Haruhi figures! In chibi too! EEEEKK!! I wanted to but them so badly but a voice in me was making me hesitate. At the end, I did not buy any of them... T^T

There was a doujin area where doujinkas display there art and stuff. Soon, the cosplay competition started. Cosplayers got on stage one by one to pose and answer questions by the judges and then they did a sketch. Some of the cosplayers did a good job cosplaying but failed to express the original character of the anime.

Example:
Judge: What will you eat if you are hungry?
L cosplayer: Er... A burger?

Nooo!! He'll totally get a big fat "O" if I were a judge! Later was another bad contestant, the cosplayer of Nell from Bleach did a sketch which was not realted to Bleach at all! It was a lame sketch which made me sick watching it!

After the judges announced the winner and all (I forgot who won and all...). The cosplayers did a group photo and danced this dance which just involved moving your hands on your head and swing your head cutely from left and right. SenzO told me that it's called Caramelldansen.

After the event, we had a last look at gamers playing Left For Dead. Then my dad came and pick me and SenzO up. I joked that there should be a game called Left to Live next.

Some game character, also got pulled up by the MC.

Black Star and Tsubaki (Soul Eater)

A group of Macross Frontier cosplayers and Enma Ai (Jigoku Shoujo; bottom center).

Random cosplayers, I think...

The doujin area. Look closely and you'll see Death the Kid and Patty (Soul Eater). The other cosplayers are unknown to me.

The really cool and amazing Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu figures. They are very flexible and the art work was done nicely.

Now in chibi version!

Some kid playing the GTA4 for XBox.

The sucky sketch done by the Bleach group. The costumes were great but they waisted it on a lame sketch. So disappointing.

Shinigami-sama (Soul Eater)

Again.

Random girl in kimono.

Namewee singing on stage. I hade no idea what he was singing because of the microphone.

"Kage bunshi no jutsu!"

Group picture of the cosplayers who attended the event.

Dancing caramelldansen.
I failed to take any more pictures because my camera died. Haih~ But it was great that day! An awsome experience for a newbie otaku like me.
