Time! Speed! Solve!

Just recently is the Dutch Open for Speed Cubing. Also in Japan, Nakajima Yu is back with his awesome cubing skills. I also got into the mood and did some speed cubing. Because I have not been playing for months, I think I got kinda rusty.

I did 10 solves:
46.78 seconds
46.70 seconds
44.01 seconds
01:01.22 seconds
45.45 seconds
47.79 seconds
01:06.89 seconds
41.24 seconds
48.95 seconds
33.93 seconds

In the last solve, I manage to pull through and get about half a minute. I'm thinking of practicing and polishing my skills. I might actually learn the Fridrich method if I have the spirit to. So far my best record is still 31.97 seconds.

Also, I have finally learned how to solve the Skewb. It was easier than I thought. Just had to remember three algorithms. Now I'm gonna practice on the Skewb as well!

Also, I found out that because of Nakajima Yu's absence, someone else beat his record. A boy by the name Erik Akkersdijk from the Netherlands earned himself an official record of 7.08 seconds on the 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube and also, I thought impossible until I checked it out myself, a record of 0.98 seconds on the 2x2x2 Rubik's Cube. That's like ONE SECOND!

Anyhow, AniManGaki is coming. I'm sorta ready to stomp the grounds. Ah, they are screening movies, Summer Wars, Spirited Away, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and 5cm Per Second. For more info, check out the website.

Hey Look! It's A Poem After So Long.

Planks of wood leaning against the wall,
nothing is done, collecting dust, that's all.
My mom got them, some are not from a mall,
accidentally kick one of them, and all will fall.
When that happens, anger will befall,
someone will rage, will start shouting in the hall.
Next thing to happen, my name, that someone will call,
I get the blame, even when I have nothing to do with it at all.
I have to move them, move them to the other side of the hall,
once again, nothing will happen, think of something that rhymes with 'hall'.
Writer's block is happening, what words end with 'all'?
Not only something that ends with 'all', but also words that sound like 'all'.
Without realising it, this poem is becoming the opposite of 'small',
I look at myself, I am the opposite of 'tall'.
But wait a minute, the previous line of the previous line should not end with 'small'!
Disappointed with this error, I shall roll up into a ball.
While in this state, I wonder if I will grow tall,
for some reason, I keep coming to the word 'stall'.
So to come up with more words, I went to Google and type 'rhymes with all',
I know, I know, it's cheating but hey, I got the word 'shawl'.
There are some words I've never seen before like 'kroll',
and 'schmall' and you know what, I can't believe I forgot 'install'.
But now the poem is going off track, it's not like the beginning at all!
So I shall end this poem, maybe I could turn this into a rap, oh well, that is all.

Checkmate

I originally wanted to post a proper story of the final play I did with my friends for Drama class but I got tired and well.... lazy. So here's a summary.

Title: Checkmate

Cast:
Ryan (played by Wee): The main character. The story is read by him from his diary. He is the scout in the team. An orphan.
Joe (played by me): Ryan's best friend. They knew each other ever since they were children. Together in an orphanage, Ryan and Joe played chess but Joe always loses. Joe is the sniper of the team.
Roger (played by Chia): The transport expert in the team. Roger gets excited excited easily by things and gets loud. He can drive any vehicle from tanks to ships to planes.
Preston (played by Wilson): The heavy weapons user in the team. He is in love with his minigun named Maria. Get's hot easily and is rough.
Colin (played by Kai): The Australian IT expert in the team. He is a flirt and a pervert.
Dmitri (played by Mal): The Russian demolition man in the team. A veteran, he likes vodka and dislikes beer. Loves to blow things up and the sound of explosions. Often tells Soviet Russia revers jokes.
Lindsay (played by Laura): The captain of the team, Blue Eagle. She is the only girl in the team and is frustrated over the 'crazy' bunch of men she has to work with.

Setting:
The future, from the year 2045 (in diary) and 2047, in America and Germany (that used to be another country).

Ryan and Joe goes into war against the Germans after Hitler was cyrogenetically revived. They were invited to join a special forces team and together they met five other people, Roger, Preston, Colin, Dmitri and Lindsay. At first each of them did not get along well except for Ryan and Joe of course. In their first mission, they were to save a hostage from a terrorist but they fail and the place explodes, they escape in a helicopter and learn that Roger is actually acrophobic, Dmitri takes over the steering but they crash landed because the helicopter ran out of fuel. They soon bonded together as a team overnight. They later on received a new mission to assassinate Hitler. They manage to get into his base but one by one they died after someone triggers an alarm, leaving Ryan and Joe who manage to reach Hitler's room. Hitler starts to tell them about the US army using them and Hitler himself as a puppet to start wars. Joe kills Hitler but as Ryan turns around to congratulate Joe, Joe revels himself as a traitor and kills Ryan. Soon, General Birch, the person who formed the team and gave out missions to them walks out and congratulates Joe telling him that he did well in deceiving the team but as he was about to kill Joe, Joe shoots Birch in the stomach and revels that he has also betrayed Birch, together with Colin who appeared to die with Lindsay. After Colin delivers the final blow to Birch, Joe and Colin continued their world domination and five years later, they rule the world. In the final scene, Joe visits Ryan, who pretended to suffer brain damage and answers some of Ryan's questions and then finally kills him. Colin comes into the room as Joe reads Ryan's final entry in his diary. After finishing, Joe tears Ryan's diary into shreds and the two men leave the scene.

The story was awesome. There was the unexpected betrayal and the unexpected twist. Unfortunately I'm too lazy to tell it in an awesome way. Oh well.

Edit: Pah! I completely forgot to add in some stuff and I just realised it after like how many days I posted this. I doubt anyone would be reading this edit but I'm gonna add this edit in anyway. During the storyline, it is revealed that Ryan and Joe were from the same orphanage and were roommates, they'd play chess together and Ryan would always win. It is later reveled that Joe is a sociopath and so his childhood memories with Ryan were all nothing to him and he used those times as a chance to "learn" emotion, Joe is also a genius, it was revealed that Joe let Ryan win their games of chess on purpose by manipulating Ryan's movements. Roger is revealed to be acrophobic, leading to Dmitri to take over the helicopter who ensures the team that because he can drive a tractor he can pilot a helicopter. Roger passed flying school by closing his eyes, he must be very lucky in air. It is revealed in the General Birch betrayal scene that Colin is actually not Australian. Dmitri must be very lucky because he's been playing Russian roulette with guns and later tanks since the age of 12. It is suggested that Ryan, Joe, Colin and Birch all come from the same orphanage because all four of them uses 'chess' and 'pawns' in metaphoric ways. If the previous suggestion is right, it would be continued that Ryan was adopted because he is the only one of the four to be not part of the inside party.

One Shots Of Good Reads

Just this month, I've read two amazingly well written one shot mangas. Well I should say that it was expected as they were published in Shounen Weekly Jump after all, not a lot of one shots are published in Weekly Shounen Jump after all. You could say that these two one shots are very, very good.

First off is a baseball manga titled 'Bench!' by Kishimoto Masashi (Naruto), about a highschool baseball club that has four divisions, the A team being the one with the best players and the D team being the one with all the 'misfits' and 'losers'. The story centers around the D team members and a new transfer student, Yamaguchi and Ou, a previous A team pitcher who fractured his right shoulder forcing him into the D team.

The manga tells us about people's love for baseball and the desire to play baseball and to win. For me, it reminds me of the days in highschool when I played for the school team and fun I had along the way.

The second is a gag-battle manga titled 'Bankara' by Sorachi Hideaki (Gintama), about a future of cybergenetics and highschool delinquents. Along the way, there are quotations by real people (and at one point, as a joke by the main character) about highschool life and youth. The story revolves around Shizuka, the chairwoman of the public morals committee of Bankara High and the daughter from a family of public morals committee that serves the Ministry of Education, Mobuta, the secretary of the school's public morals committee and Takeru, a frozen 167 year old bancho who was accidentally thawed out of his ice prison. Takeru turns out to be nothing more than an idiot the size of a small boy after he got out. Shizuka vows to keep her eye on Takeru to cover her actions of breaking the ice prison Takeru was sealed in.

The manga tells us about the reasons of protecting things we love and the misunderstandings other see in the actions of the protecters. It is quite the inspiring read kind of manga. I almost teared at the end, probably it's because I'm so sensitive.

I really hope to see weekly series of this two mangas soon. They are pretty much one of a kind, both with fitting art based on each mangaka's art styles.

Wilson Mannor and The Last Drama

Yesterday night I stayed over at Wilson's house along with Laura, Mal, Kai, Chia and Wee. We went there straight after college and had take away food from the Ming Tien kopitiam for dinner. I sat in Wilson's car (his mom picked us up) with Chia while Wee, Laura and Mal sat in Kai's. The moment we got to his house, we put our bags down and got to work immediately. Everyone started to search war pictures, type our final script and take pictures for our play. I got kinda serious around that time but it was not the good kind of serious I usually carry, it was the asshole serious attitude I carried. I got this don't-worry-I-know-what-I'm doing asshole attitude and played Tetris Friends when I was suppose to search for war pictures. Later on I gave shit about the game and got to work. Sorry guys.

After the slide show and the flashback video was complete, we started to rehearse on our play. We did it a few times until 12a.m. Everyone was hot and sweaty, sticky and smelly. At one point, Laura and Mal had to get out of their contact lenses and put on their glasses, I played around and put mine on as well saying that all of us wears glasses and should take a group picture of all of us in glasses.

After the rehearsal, we sat in Wilson's bedroom and took turns to bath. While we waited, we got ready our labels and prepared our props and stuff. Later after everyone had their bath, we played Naruto on Wilson's PS2. Man I miss the game so much. I had not played it for a long time. The game Wilson had was Naruto 4 so it's the older one to the last one for the PS2 games where there's no partner and combo ultimate attacks. I got kind of a show off when playing and I find that Laura is a formidable opponent! Laura is the first person I've ever met who is a formidable opponent besides my highschool friends like Kuui, Wayne, Marcus and Ken! As usual I used Might Guy and Shikamaru, if Wilson had Nartuo 5 with unlocked characters I would have got to use Hinata. Mal was so cute playing Naruto, she never played before so she isn't that fast at mashing the buttons and she made this cute wail when she got pwned by Kai.

We went to sleep after game at 2.30a.m. Mal and Laura slept in Wilson's bedroom while us guys slept in the game room. We cracked some jokes and then dozed off.

I woke up later when I heard Wilson say, "What the fuck!?" because my alarm rang and I did not wake up. I quickly made my way out of my sleeping bag and stopped the alarm. We all lied down for a moment and then I got up after Wilson. We went to his bedroom and we find Mal and Laura, up and dressed. Wilson went into the toilet first so I waited for my turn. Wilson soon popped his head out of the toilet door and said that he was gonna take a shower so I had to wait a little longer. I was still groggy so I can't remember what Mal or Laura said to me or what happened, I just remember taking out my toothbrush and sat on the bed waiting for my turn. Chia came in later on and waited as well and Laura decided to take another short sleep.

After I washed my face and brushed my teeth, Kai also got up already and was already starting to play and joke around. After everyone was ready, we took our bags down and we had breakfast. Wilson's mom prepared bread with jam and milo for us. How nice. Thanks Wilson's mom!

Later, I sat in Kai's car with Laura, Mal and Wee while Wilson and Chia got into Wilson's mom's car and we headed for college. We got there and started to do another round of rehearsal. We were all excited and I can pretty much bet that we all were expecting an A, especially Wee. This final drama was the only play I had high expectations on. I held on to the thought that we would get an A.

After Laksh's group's play, it was our turn. Laksh's group did a great job! They had awesome props and make up and the story was amazing! It was about a fantasy story that had a twist that the fantasy might have been a real thing. They scored an A. We were the second group to perform and I for the first time, I was really nervous and at that point, I had this feeling that after the play, we would get an A but some unfortunate things happened, there were some technical problems, the projector had some problems and we occasionally forgot to plug in the speakers to MacLappy. I actually panicked when the projector was not working, I tried to joke around to ease myself but I still panicked. Through the whole play, I manage to focus on the lines but I still messed up a few times. After the whole play ended, I would normally have this feeling of content that I did what I can and had fun and joy doing it, I would normally have not worried about the score the group I was in would score but this time round, I had so much expectations for an A, I did not feel good because of the mistakes I made. I even missed out a whole line! I felt kinda depressed. Gary gave us an A-. Normally I would be joyous but I did not feel it. I was glad it was at least an A- but because I had high hopes for an A, I did not feel good. Even Kai felt bad, Chia felt bad, Wilson felt bad, Laura felt bad and most of all, Wee was silent, meaning he felt bad. Mal however, for the first time, tired to cheer us up. Normally Mal would be neutral, stoned but when she tried to cheer us up, there was this happy-sad feeling coming from her reaching out to us and telling us to cheer up. I manage to stick my body out of the pool of depression but I still had this lingering guilt. Kai was second to being the most depressed, he kept apologizing to Wee about the technical problems. Wee kept telling us it was okay but we knew that it was not completely 'okay'. We had a few moments of silence and then we went on and watched Wen Wei's play, the last play for today. While watching the play, Kai and I kept silent the whole time. Normally we would be joking around and poking fun but it was total silence, he felt sad and I felt sad too, on top of that, the lack of sleep got to me and I got very tired and disappointed in myself.

Wen Wei's group's play was also a good one, they got a Very Strong A-, close to getting an A. Gary realised the negative vibe from our group and tried to brighten our mood. We then got together and took class photos as our last Drama class (Language & Communication 3 class) in groups and in the whole class. It was like a CD1001-1 reunion today because a lot of our previous classmates who went to different majors came to watch our plays. After the photos, Gary gave us his last wishes and class was dismissed. Mal got us to take a bunch of photos together and there we manage to bring ourselves up. At this point, I realised that we all have bonded together even closer compared to the time when we first met and also with the time when we first grouped together. In just two weeks, the seven of us have become close friends and as I can see, each of us has become even more open up to each other. I guess Mal had the biggest change because she has become more hearty, has more expression and also have learned how to counter Kai's "devious" comments and actions. Laura now also sees me as an opponent in Naruto and now she laughs more often at our joke. Wilson says that he is now even more expressive and can even make fun of girls. Chia, well, I guess he is more beastly now. Hahaha! Wee also has opened up to us as well, asking us to join in his crazy and wacky ideas and activities. Kai, well, he's gotten more expressive on his pervertedness, I say, his desperate pervertedness. Well, both of us has acknowledge each other as fellow perverts and we would argue over minor things childishly, to me, that's the process of become great friends. Well, I realised that I have become more expressive as well and I've started to stop telling lame jokes but I would occasionally say lame things or annoy others. I also have become comfortable around girls, I don't really feel awkward anymore as compared to last time. I really feel happy being with them. I remember while having breakfast at Wilson's house, I joked that we looked like a family and Laura being the mom and Wilson being the dad but seriously, I do feel that we really are a family.

We later had late lunch at Famosa, our usual eating joint for the past few months and we chatted about things that happened and stuff. Wee was not with us that time because he wanted to spent some time with Ann Nee and he also left earlier. Nicole joined us for lunch and we talked about how we met each other and become friends this year. It felt really old even though it was just this year. In just 9 months, each of us become some what different, in personality and appearance. It's amazing how each and every one of us has become such close friends in just 9 months. Just thinking about it moves me so much I could cry tears of joy. I'm not the kind of person who knows how to express myself in words but yeah, thanks guys. I wish that these great happy days will last forever!

Hey! What's with this sentimental moment? Next stop! Swimming! Sleep overs! Camping! Hiking! Let the activities continue! Just name it! Together we will make the happiest times of our lives! Yeah!

P/S: I don't think I would be deleting the music and sounds we used for our play for some time.

Wee's Home Adventure

Yesterday I stayed over at Wee's house after college. I had to pack two days worth of clothes because the next day, today, I am at Wilson's house for our group's drama tomorrow. Besides me, Chia tagged along to Wee's.

Wee's dad picked us up and we headed to Wee's house. Apparently he stays at the Botanicals (or whatever the place is called) which is a five minutes ride to and from AEON Jusco, the big one I went to a few months ago. The moment we got to Wee's house and Wee's dad got off, Wee took over the wheel and we headed to a night market which is nearby, which is also in Chia's housing area.

At the night market, we looked around for the things we need for our drama and also looking at food along the way. For the first time in my life, I've seen so much food in a night market! I was so hungry and excited. Wee also got hungry and excited. Turned out he did not go to the night market often. After going one round, we then bought two red laser torches and then scouted around for food. I learned that some of the names of the food I know is named differently around here. The names I learned must have been the names in Penang while the ones here are the KL names. (Some Penang food and KL food have different names; such as Hokkien Mee (Penang), Prawn Mee (KL))

We bought quite a lot of food. I can say I spent the best RM10 on food ever! I bought two huge ban zheng kuih, gyoza and kuih kak. Chia bought a great huge bag of soya milk for RM2! It was freaking cheap! It was fresh as well! Chia, Wee and I shared it and it lasted until the next day. Chia and Wee bought kuih kak and also this huge piece of fried chicken. It smelled so great Wee and I got extremely hungry we were moaning and raging and screaming in the car on the way back. When we got back to Wee's house, we "devoured" on our food. I almost teared on the kuih kak because it tasted so good! I say it can be compared to the one in Penang.

That night after the food, we bathed and then did our perspective assignment. I did it while on the laptop. We did our assignment until 1.30a.m. and then we went to sleep.

We woke up later at around 6 and went to college. The end.

Haha. Such a short and unexciting post.

Extremely Short Blog Posts Are EXTREMELY Short

Hi.

Super Short Blog Posts Are REALLY Short

I think I'm starting to turn immune to yaoi. Hmm...

Short Blog Posts Are Short

A short little update.

Well, I got a carpet burn last Friday. I wasn't that serious and it was pretty much healing until yesterday, while I was on my bed, I accidentally burnt that same carpet burned wound and the whole patch of skin tore off and blood spilled everywhere! It's a bloody! My bed got stained red and chaos happened! I screamed and panicked and shouted and hollered screamed and screeched and wailed and screamed and roared and shrieked and shrilled and screamed and yelled and danced and did I mention screamed? It was madness!!!

Of course, I did not do that. I just got pissed at myself and washed the "refreshed" wound. Luckily no blood dripped anywhere but there were tiny rolled up balls of healing-but-now-dead skin. My mom helped me put on some gel to heal it because I don't have a clear view of the whole wound as it's at my elbow. Later on, pus started drooling out. It was disgusting! I didn't care and let the gel dry and went to sleep.

Anyway, tomorrow I'm gonna sleep over at Wee's with Chia and then on Thursday I'll sleep over at Wilson's with everyone else in my final drama group! Chia, Wee, Kai, Laura, Mal and I will be sleeping over at Wilson's! Yay~ This will the first time I got to sleep over at someone's house with girl friends. Usually it's only guys and the only girls wouldn't be girl friends but rather sisters or something. Ha! I'm so excited! ...I guess?

In the end, short blog post is not short.

In Soviet Russia, Blog Post Posts You.

So it's been some time since I last blogged and I have some random stuff to post up. Oh boy! What random (and maybe retarded) stuff do I have to say? Let's bring it!

This week is the last week my class is having Drama class. Sad... For our last assignment, we have to come up with a really good story, the maximum time is 30 minutes and we have a free choice of what story we wanna play. This time round, I grouped up with Wee, Chia, Kai, Wilson, Mal and Laura. We sure are an awesome bunch. We came up with a war story. I don't wanna spoil the story before we performed it so I'll only post up the plot (may not) and everything after the play. I'm so excited! This is story is so awesome!

The other day Wayne decided to find the origin of our Sannin Kai (三人会). We went way back till January and found out that it was the start of our gathering but the Sannin Kai did not start at that time. After a couple of hours, Wayne came to a conclusion that the start of the Sannin Kai is on the 28th of April 2010 when I started calling Wayne, 'L' and soon later created the nickname 'Kenada' for Ken. Whoo-hoo!

My grandfather bought me a Mac Pro laptop! WHHHHOOOOAAAA!!! And I'm using it right now! Typing this blog post! THANK YOU GRANDPA!!! LOVE YOU LOADS!!! I called my grandfather to thank him and all he said was, "Ah, ah. Your mom wants to talk to Grandma?". Usual of him, my grandfather is a man of a few words. He doesn't talk a lot, always doing work around the house back in Penang. I also thanked my aunt for telling my grandfather to buy me this awesome lappy and my mom for taking me to the Machines shop in Sunway Pyramid. I'm gonna call my laptop, Tsubaki MacLappy! Why the Japanese name and the English surname? Why, that's just me. Now Kon Windowsdesk has a new friend!

Recently, Mal introduced me to Flight of The Conchords. A New Zealand band of two who plays funny songs. I got so hooked up on their songs for the first time in years I actually wanted to jam English songs and not Japanese songs even though I can't play any instruments and never jammed before. Haha. I now have a Top 3 most favorite Flight of The Conchords songs, they are, Robots (The Humans Are Dead), Beautiful Girl and Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros. All three are funny and I've sorta learned the lyrics to them already. Seriously, I recommend these songs to anyone who likes humor. Also, another songs to listen to are, Albi (The Racist Dragon) and Jenny.

I listened to a song titled Jizz In My Pants by The Lonely Island. It's funny! I don't understand why Kai said it's gross. There're also parodies of that song and Fell Asleep In Class is a good parody.

While working on our final drama, we got hooked to Team Fortress 2. I got the game but have not played it yet. I tried it out on Mal's laptop at college though. Mal was super-duper kind to give us the game after downloading it. My favorite characters to play are Scout and Spy. I like Scout best. He's like some hyper-active kid running like the wind. Hahaha! The videos available on YouTube are great! I liked 'Meet The Spy' best among the other 'Meet The...' series.

There was so much I wanted to post about but as usual, I always forget about what I wanted to post about. Memory is such a mysterious thing.

Well, it's been months since we had advertised our Kenada figurines! (p/s: This is imaginary for those who are not familiar with this blog. This whole advertisement is also imaginary.) This time round, we are giving out our last and final Kenada figurines. In conjunction with the Sannin Kai's discovery of their beginning, we have two special guests and they are L and JY who are the masters of Kenada. In this set, Kenada is dressed as Hei (Darker than Black), L is dressed as Byakuran (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!) and JY is dressed as Keiichi (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni). This set is called 'Sannin Kai! Cosplay Feist!'. To order, dia- Sorry but all the Sannin Kai! Cosplay Feist! figurine sets are all sold out. So much for your anticipation. Turns out all the fans had gone crazy and stayed outside our store and the moment we put the figurines up on sale, they were all sold out. Also, some of our employees are killed by rage from costumers when they found out that there are only 21 sets of our figurines sold worldwide. Never again will we make, sell and advertise Kenada figurines because it is concluded that Kenada figurines are bad for the society. Thank you for your support. This is like some troll attractor. Wahahaha.

Quote of the week: "In Soviet Russia, porn watches you." - Malini as a character in our drama.

Kon Windowsdesk (コン·ウィンドウスデスク) and Tsubaki MacLappy (ツバキ·マクラッピー)

Gonna make a MOT soon with this picture.

...

Speaking of which I have not been making any MOTs...

"May The Force Be With You"

Today is the last day for the almighty Mr. Anderson to be with us in class, next week someone else will replace him in Culture & Society in Malaysia: Tutorial class. Today we discussed about racism. 'Why is race a sensitive issue?'. The discussion went on for quite some time even going as far as to religion and reasoning to things such as praying and religious beliefs and also the society's wrong idea of each culture and religion's beliefs. In the end, the reason is simply because humans are selfish beings. I don't know what it is about Mr. Anderson but he always makes sense.

Before class ended, he quoted the infamous quote that we all had waited long for, "I'll hunt you down and kill you.", "May the force be with you.". He also wished us good luck on our final projects.

After class, some of us joined Mr. Anderson yum cha at an Indian restaurant. We also had lunch there and we talked about various things. Mr. Anderson recommended us an anime movie, Grave of the Fireflies. He warned us to have tissue with us when watching the movie. Haha. I really like listening to Mr. Anderson, it's like listening to Mr. Colin. Both men are stern, bold, serious and influential but humorous. I really look up to people like them.

Quotes:
- "Do whatever you want to do. You only live once." - Anderson
- "He said, 'I only learn when you stop teaching.', do you understand what that means or not?" - Anderson, on a student overseas to a lecturer in London.
- "Some did not even bath for the whole week because the water was so cold!" - Anderson, on a camping trip at Cameron Highlands.
- "I've been hanging out with Chinese all my life." - Malini, on the topic about hanging out with own races.
- "I always hang out with Chinese people. I don't like to hang out with Malays, they talk a lot and are very annoying." - Badrissa, on the topic about hanging out with own races.
- "This person has tortured 50 innocent people and you won't kill him? Why? Are you thinking about the 50 innocent people or are you thinking about what will happen to you after you kill him?" - Anderson, on the issue about humans as selfish beings.
- "In the end, the good things you do, only you know." - Anderson
- "You know what happened is, we talked about life, 5a.m. in the morning, in a pub. Hahaha." - Anderson, on his college life with his lecturer.

Rotating, Spinning, Shape Shifting, Something

Today I finally bought that Rubik's puzzle I had my eye on since the beginning of this year. Hooza! This is my third shape shifting Rubik's puzzle~ Now for reviews.

It's a copy of the infamous Fisher Cube by Tony Fisher. Of course, I'm cheapskate but I also stick to quality check. The cube's rotations are really really really and really smooth. Not the kind of cheap puzzle quality of super stiff and tough rotating axles.

I got it for RM20.90 with luck because last week when I asked, it was RM29.90. This time, they forgot the price and just labeled it with the price of the cheap 3x3x3 Rubik's cubes on display when I asked (again).

My first impression on the Fisher Cube was that it sorta works like a normal 3x3x3 Rubik's cube, the different cut of the cube just makes it slightly harder to get used to andI was half correct. There is a twist to the Fisher Cube and that is that I need to perform a step before proceeding to the normal 3x3x3 Rubik's cube algorithms. The "sides" and the "corners" of the Fisher Cube are switched around so you'd have to treat each "side" as a "corner" and each "corner" as a "side" when solving. Also, the cross to get on the final layer was also a tricky part as each "side" has two colors.

I had fun solving it for the next few times solving the cube but then I got kinda bored of it after my fifth solve. Still, it's now one of my favorites to have around.

Fisher Cube

Unsolved state.

Brain Blasted

Yeah. That was what it felt like after Mr. Anderson said those few words in class today. Today during the tutorial on Culture & Society in Malaysia class, Mr. Anderson talked about knowing our culture or tradition and the differences between "culture", "tradition", "habit" and "ritual". He did some examples as so to asking us how can we prove ourselves who we are if we lose our identification card and all the evidence to identify ourselves. I had no answer to that but what Mr. Anderson said really punched a hole in my head and cleared out my long term writers block that I had for years.

"The thing is, you do not understand yourself; you do not know yourself; if you do not know yourself, understand yourself, how the fuck can you educate the future generation? How can you tell them what to do and what not to do?"

Within the whole sentence, during his speech, I could not help it but to smile. A single sentence from the mouth of 'God' himself, blew a hole in the block that was suffocating this 'pipe' in my head that was clogged for almost two years.

"Do not understand yourself; do not know yourself" was the key to my writers block to a story about highschool kids with secret backgrounds. All I thought about was 'people not completely knowing another person's background' and I completely forgot about 'people not knowing their own self' and I have read all sorts of books (and manga) and watched all sorts of anime that has this theme, 'not knowing him/herself'. I got so happy I could not eat. I still ate anyway but not much. Soon, I'll be developing this idea of mine into detail. From the bottom of my hearth, I thank the almighty Mr. Anderson for this breakthrough even though he has no idea that he helped me a lot.

There's A Bump In My Mouse Pad

Oh well, there goes a bunch of movie-less months and I feel really empty. Zero inspiration, zero creativity. My mind is constantly thinking of watching movies but I don't seem to have the time to head to a cinema and feast my eyes (and brain) to the big screen, absorbing all the colors and the action and the themes into my scrawny little brain the size of my two fists put together. Yes, I am hungry for movies! And I still have not watched Kara no Kyoukai! Argh!

This is like fourth week of my third semester of college and there're dark clouds looming over the skies in my head. Debbie, my Visual Communication lecturer is another Daniel. She is BORING. She is a BITCH. She has no CREATIVITY. She can't BIRD. She is a female Daniel and do you know what's wrong with females who have bad personality? They are a male with bad personality multiplied by a billion. Yes, Debbie is a billion times worse than Daniel and we are starting to hate her. Family reunion in my ass Debbie. Kai got a better concept full of irony and creativity and you shunned it without taking a single look and tossed a dumb ass boring 'family reunion' concept in our faces. Fuck you.

Daniel returns. Surprisingly he is better than the last time. It was pretty obvious, he stepped into Culture & Society in Malaysia class replacing Va Nee and he had this humble speech which told me that he was afraid of us (Us meaning CD1001-1) because almost the whole of CD1001-1 students built a barrier separating us from the other classes, occupying the back seats, far from the lecturer's stand. I could tell that he was trying to change, which is good, but he reverted to his usual boring speech half-way through. Poor Daniel, most of us did not really pay attention to him but he still went through it, good job Daniel! Keep your spirit strong and try not to be boring!

Drama class has been constantly awesome. Everybody keeps getting split into different groups every week and that we keep on having awesome assignment presentations. Last week, Cardin's play was so touching I cried, in class, the part of the play reminded me of my grandfather's funeral and the song Cardin played, it was perfect! It was so sad, I could not help myself. Anyway, our presentation was not bad either, there were some mistakes through our play but we manage to get an A-. The funniest part was when Wen Wei who was playing 'Russel', accidentally called me, 'Russel' when the character I was playing was 'Richard'. There was this pause when I heard that and I held in my laughter but failed to hold back my while smile, I giggled a little and I was sure I had this weird distorted smile on my face. Luckily Gary, my drama class lecturer did not see my reaction because I quickly recomposed myself and continued the play but my classmates saw my reaction. Hahaha.

Perspective Studies is like modern math all over again, just with 3D cubes images instead of 2D squares. Seamus is a good lecturer, it's just that the subject is kinda boring. Watching him teach us the things similar to what I learned back in Form4 and 5 just makes me uninterested. The cool thing is that we don't have to draw things very accurately. Seamus said that we should relax more when doing our assignments, using set squares is not a must. So much for me stressing over getting perfect accuracy on my last assignment. Haha.

This week I made a new favorite quote,

"People who can't bird shouldn't be in the art industry."
- Wee

It was made when we were ranting about Debbie. Seriously, she can't take a joke because she doesn't understand it!

Oh, by the way, 'bird' means 'talk cock' or '讲鸟话' (or berburung-burung), meaning 'talking nonsense' or 'lame talk'.
