コミク・フィエスタ 二〇〇九

IT WAS A BLAST!! IT WAS FILLED WITH COSPLAYERS!! IT WAS AWESOME!! IT WAS PWNSOME!! IT WAS CANNOTBEEXPRESSEDINWORDS!!

Day 1
I did not go in the morning because I had to help my mom out at her language center of their Christmas party but I manage made it there around 2. I was excited about going to Comic Fiesta because for so many years (two years actually...) I had always wanted to attend Comic Fiesta but I never did get the chance to go. I couldn't find the convention hall at first and had to call Chia Kuui many times before finding him and getting there.

The moment I went up the escalator, my mind turned into a happy and cheerful grassy land with sunshine, rainbows, bunnies and most of all, COSPLAYERS!! ROAR!! I always get excited when I see cosplayers so I started shacking in excitement and Chia Kuui had to drag me to the ticket counter to obtain our tickets. I gave the lady at the counter my receipts and she handed us the tickets for both Day1 and Day2 and some papers regarding information on Comic Fiesta. After that, whee~ I took my camera out and Jian-Yong's Amazing Comic Fiesta Adventure begun! (oh, with Chia Kuui of course)

After letting the security help us put on our tickets, Chia Kuui and I entered the insert-some-words-better-than-'amazing' hall filled with cosplayers and anime-manga related stuff. There was a stage performance going on with the MCs making lame jokes. Of course, I did not bother about that because cosplayers and doujins are more awesome! Kuui and I started going around asking permissions to take pictures and snapping away. We also tried to look for Mae Yen because she told us at Denise's Christmas party that she has a doujin booth but we did not see them. Turned out they were the booth that had the "away for lunch" sign the whole time we were at the booths. We met Aaron San, a senior of ours there. We watched the stage performance when a bunch of cosplayers were singing some songs and then dancing Cirno's Perfect Math Classroom dance.

Later when the event was about to finish, Kuui and I had early dinner at 1901. We got lost at the Sunway Pyramid anyway... When we got back to the hall, the event had ended and everybody was starting to pack up and leave. We met Chee Meng, Alex and Justin there. Turned out they had a doujin booth!

I love this awesome Noface. His costume is awesome!

Hatsune Miku~

Tobi

I love this Sasori's puppet. It can actually move! The Sasori cosplayer just twist and pull some strings and the puppet moves! How awesome is that?!

Hollow Ichigo

The newer Hollow Ichigo

Clone Trooper at work? Haha.

Day 2
This day was my the day I cosplay for my first time. Before I head to sleep, I had messaged everybody (my friends) who's going to Comic Fiesta telling them to gather at McDonald's so that I can pick them all up at the same place as we were carpooling. I woke up at 7 to get dressed. I took a shower, dried my hair with the hair drier, put on my school uniform with a red t-shirt under the school shirt (which I borrowed from my sister) and woke my mom up so that she can help me color spray my hair. After that, I grabbed my baseball bat and my dad and I left for Centerpoint McDonald's. When we got there, I got out, received questions from the guys, rushed them into the car and off we go~ The guys were: Yat Hong, Yong Ken, Chia Kuui, Yat Sun and Kin Yen.

We got there early and because Ken decided to come at the last minute and I failed at buying the ticket for Sun, Sun went to line up at the ticket counter to buy two tickets for the both of them. After some hanging around because the event for Day2 have not started yet and some "ooh"s and "aah"s at some cosplayers, the ticket counter people started a count down for the opening of the ticket counters and then when they finished, the everybody cheered. Haha. That was kinda exciting. When Sun came back with the tickets, we went to line up at the entrance. We met with Mae Yen there. Yay~ This time we can see her doujin booth~ After we got in, I followed Yati around because it's his first time there. After some quick glances, I dragged him with me to search for Mae Yen's booth. We found here straight away as we entered the doujin booth area because there were still not that many people around. I then found out that Chee Meng, Alex, Julian and Justin were in the same booth as Mae Yen! Gosh... Mae Yen was excited because of my cosplay and she took some pictures with me. Yay~ My first time taking a picture as a anime character~

Mae Yen soon left to sign up for the singles cosplay competition so I followed Yati around again to look at stuff. SenzO left us to explore on his own. The MCs from yesterday started to give away free gifts to people who answered their lame questions and the stage activities started to warm up as more people arrived.

Soon, people and cosplayers started to swarm the place. This time, I brought money so I manage to buy some stuff. Because I was cosplaying, Kuui decided to help me take pictures with my camera and he also carried my bag (Ken carried it for me at first until he gave up because it started to get heavy from the stuff he and I bought). Abigail and Denise called me at the same time saying that they have come. I thought they were in the mall so I went out there and tried to look out for them. Turned out the both of them were at the entrance at the hall even though they did not come from the same vehicle. So when I found Abby first who followed Kuui and then Denise and her mom who were already with Mae Yen. Denise followed Mae Yen to the toilet so that she can change to her shinigami costume. I then went and hanged around the stores. Denise and Mae Yen soon came back and after that, we walked around looking at stuff and cosplayers. Soon, Kuui came back telling me my camera knocked out. Damn! I should have recharged the batteries. I was so disappointed later because there were many, and I really mean many, awesome cosplayers that came (Black Rock Shooter!! Nooo!!!).

After some time, Denise had to go home because of her leg injury so we said goodbye and she left with her mom. So I went back in. There was nothing going on on stage at that time but as I was walking to Mae Yen's doujin booth, Abracadabra by the Brown Eyed Girls came on. As I reached the doujin booth area, Tell Me by the Wonder Girls came on and I saw many cosplayers/doujinkas dancing! Of course, since I'm the hyper kind of person, I was half dancing as I was walking to the booth and when I got there, Mae Yen was dancing too. Haha. Music is surely a magical thing. There was this group of girl doujinkas who stood on their chairs and danced. Soon, the MCs who were at the DJ booth called them to the stage and then Abracadabra came on. The girls strut their stuff and the crowd (that soon gathered, with me and my group of friends in it) cheered. Some cosplayers joined them as they were dancing. After the dance, the single cosplay competition secondary round started (oh, at some point of the day which I have forgotten, I watched the single cosplay competition primary round, Mae Yen was out in the secondary round). Half way through the show, Abby called and asked if we wanted to have lunch. I then noticed that I was hungry so after asking Yati and Sun (who were with me) we gathered outside the hall. SenzO and Ken stayed to watch the competition.

We all headed to the Jusco food court to have, what can I say? A HEAVILY PRICED BULLSHIT MEAL! I had this small piece of lamb chop, a small pile of veges and tiny fries for 15 bucks! What the shit is that?! The most not-worth-it meal I had in December! Ken later joined us for lunch.

We went back to the hall and we separated again. This time I helped Mae Yen watch over her booth since I got nothing to do and Julian, Chee Meng, Justin and Alex are no where to be seen. Sitting there was some how exciting because it's a doujin booth and it's my first time in a doujin booth. Yati, Sun and Ken had nothing to do so they stood around the booth, blocking the front... So I shooed them away so that other people can see the booth. The booth is really sad actually. They had some home made clay figures, some paper emoticons on sticks and their doujin work on sale but nobody's really looking. Duh! The other booths around are so much awesome! I decided to draw some pictures to maybe get some people to look at the booth but Ken had to butt in and draw pictures in my book too so I just let him draw since we are like drawing partners. I sat there for some time and then I got really bored. So I left when Julian and the others came back and went to join the crowd to watch the stage performances.

I can't really remember what happened after that but when the event was coming to it's end, I joined all the other cosplayers on stage and did the Caramelldansen. Later, we all gathered outside the hall and did a headcount: Kuui, Ken, Yati, Sun, SenzO, Abby, Julian, me. Then we exited Sunway Pyramid and crossed the overhead bridge to Kuui's mom's car. Abby sat in the front seat with Kuui's mom and SenzO, Julian and I squeezed in the boot. It was surprisingly comfortable actually. Kuui's mom dropped us at Centerpoint McDonald's and we said our goodbyes and thus Comic Fiesta 2009 has come to an end. This year (since it's 2010 already), I must go there again! All of us are gonna be cosplaying! Whoo-hoo!!

Oh, I did not say who I was cosplaying right? I was Maebara Keiichi from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Not many knew about it. I was really disappointed. Only one stranger took a picture with me!

Kagamine Rin (Mae Yen) and Maebara Keiichi (me)

Tamaki, "I will steal all your hearts." "Kya~~!!" went the fangirls. Scary!

It's Ultrawoman!

Got milk? This is a cosplayer.

Yakitate!! Japan cast

Merry Otaku Christmas!

Denise invited me to her Christmas party at her house along with Chia Kuui. When I got there, Denise and her dad welcomed me and told me to grab dinner from the buffet table (wow!). Denise, as usual, kept apologizing saying that she can't attend to me as she has to get ready for me performance. I was like, huh? Performance? I then realized what she meant as a bus full of carolers can to the gate. Chia Kuui helped me get dinner and then leaving the plate on the coffee table outside the side door of the house, where the kids are eating, we got into the living room where the carolers sang Christmas carols. It was wonderful. The Christmas spirit totally got into me as I sang along in my head. After the carols, the carolers went around shaking hands and wishing Merry Christmas to everybody in the living room. After that, Chia Kuui and I went back to dinner. When we were about to finish, Denise and Mae Yen (whom I recognize clearly as the girl in Form 1 in Japanese club) joined us. Chia Kuui suddenly went into emo mode and left us. Sigh... That guy really needs an emotion consultant.

In the house, Denise and I exchanged our doujin stuff and looked through it as promised before. Later, Denise showed us her do the Pocky dance and then one thing led to another, Denise and Mae Yen made me join them into dancing Hare Hare Yukai! I was nervous at first, adults here and there... But I manage to turn hyper and joined them doing other dances, Motteke! Sailor Fuku, Caramelldansen and a little bit of Danjo. Chia Kuui emo-ed through the whole time so we made him join us and do Hare Hare Yukai. When Chia Kuui's mood seemed to get better, Denise took us to her room where we tried on her Hitsugaya's shinigami costume. After I put it on, Denise made me go down to the living room. I was hyper at that time so I just joined in and we did poses and took pictures. I am still surprised that I actually did that in front of confused adults who don't understand otaku-ism. Time passed like the wind and the night ended. Denise thanked us repeatedly for coming. I sure did have fun wearing the shinigami costume. I want one too!! Hahaha!!

Left to right, Chia Kuui, me, Denise and Mae Yen

Ta Starr Niht (Starry Starry Night)

Damn... I dunno what to post in this since I was suppose to make this blog post like last year! Well, here goes...

Before going to prom, Marcus, Ken, Yat Hong, Shou Jie and I went to hang out at 1Utama first. We watched Zombieland. It's my verry first 18PL movie in a cinema!! Whoo-hoo!! The movie was awesome!! I wanted to post some movie snapshots here but I'm too lazy to search for them...
After the movie, we had two games of bowling and after that, we went to the toilet and got ourselves ready. Marcus insisted that I do my hair in some style and so I did a parting and two slits drop but it's super weird... We then went to the old wing where the connection to One World Hotel is and I had to wait for my date, Sue Yin. As usual, I got nervous and worried because that's me. I always get worried when someone is late for an important date (or not an important date or a date at all). (Note to self: Must watch Alice In Wonderland!!) She arrived with her family and gosh, my mind went blank. Parents. I fear adults. I even fear my uncles and aunts and also my cousins and even my nephews who are older than me! Oh well, after greeting them and some nervous shivers, we made our way to One World Hotel and gather outside the ballroom (or is it?) with other friends. I introduced Sue Yin to some friends after some hard I-dunno-what-because-I-was-like-stoning. She seemed really bored and I was worried but I dunno what to do because I suck at things like this. I'm so stupid with girls I need some guide so that I can speak to them normally and not be nervous and all. Gah, damn! I'm such a dummy!

To make it short, the night was nice. There were performances and games (for certain people only huh) and the dinner was awesome! The only thing that worried my was Sue Yin because she does not know anyone other than me and she was wearing a bored look on her face. She told me later after prom that she had fun but I'm not too sure... Girls are excellent liars to boys. Well, it was great after all. Too bad Xin, Beng and Han's band performance did not stand out well.

Kilometer per Jian-Yong. Haha. It's actually, Ken, Marcus, Shou Jie and Jian-Yong.

A crack in a bowling ball!

Beng's burnt marshmellow.

Everybody hitting the dance floor.

Error, Please Try Again

Hmm... There's something wrong with my new modem. The internet icon is accessed to local net only. I wonder if this has got to do with the problem with setting up the modem. Guess I need to give Streamyx a ring. Gah. I don't like talking to unknown adults on the phone.

The White Flag Above My Door

I give up. I'm gonna wear my dad's coat to prom.

The Axe Has Fallen

My mom made a red word statement saying that she does not want me to have vest. I asked her three different days and she gave me three different excuses and also emphasizing her theory of me wearing some clothes only once. Hey, if I really want something and made my resolve to have it, it won't be worn only once! Explain my Hang Ten t-shirts! How often do I wear them? EVERY FREAKING DAY I GO OUT!! So now, I have no choice but to wear back the exact same outfit I wore in Form3. Thankfully I grown a bit so I can wear my dad's coat but still too big for me. Fuck the world.

Shopping, I Hate It, But I Have To.

Here's my shopping list:
-Vest: For prom; need it by Tuesday; if can't buy it, no choice but to use dad's coat that's too big for me.
-Brown hair spray: For Comic Fiesta; need it by Friday; if can't find it, get brown mousse.

Problems so far:
-My mom does not wanna buy that RM99 vest for me at Jusco because, first she says that I would only be wearing it once so it would be a waste of money, the next day she said it's ugly and she does not like it so she's not buying it for me. Hey! It's me who's wearing that vest! Not you!
-That really nice looking vest costs RM399. What the hell? I saw that the coats they sell with the same brand is RM1999! That's outrageous!
-Why the hell doesn't Tesco or wherever sell colored hair spray? All they have are dyes and mousses. I dislike those because I wanna keep my hair black and I don't trust mousses.
-My sister only has gold, blue and yellow hair sprays. Who on earth has gold hair? I know Naruto has yellow hair and KAITO has blue hair... Oh, Goldmember. Gross...

It's Dead Like It Was Suppose To Be Dead Months Ago!

It's confirmed. My handphone is dead. It can't read any SIM cards and some of the buttons are malfunctioning. Great. How am I suppose to contact with people? I need a new handphone, pronto. Damn...

Max Obtained Comic Fiesta Tickets!

Woot! I finally bought the Comic Fiesta tickets! I'm so excited! I also got all the things I need for my cosplay! Well... Except the brown hair spray and I need to remove the badges from my school uniform. Anyway, *I'm sooooooooooo excited! Wow!

*Hyper, hyper~!

They Are Japanese!

Woot! Guess what? I traded two Pokemon using Wi-Fi and now I've got two Pokemon from Japan! I was lucky and also unlucky because I was so close to trading that Kangaskhan for a male Kirlia. Too bad I was too slow and some other person on Earth got it. Well, I traded a Mightyena for a Japanese Farfetch'd and a Bellossom for a Japanese Stantler. Awesome, huh? I was so excited! Nobody touched my Carvanha though... And the Pokemon I want are asking for hard-to-obtain Pokemon. Hope somebody trades that Carvanha of mine... Oh! And I'm gonna breed my starter Pokemons so that I can dig up some traders! Currently I got, Infernape, Blaziken, Swampert, Sceptile and Blastoise which I got from KY. Oh... I feel so bad because I did not keep my promise to show her how trading works in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum.

Oh well, and some update, there's some problem with my internet connection since my mom changed the modem. Hope it gets fixed soon. Adiós~

The New Piece

I made another song but I forgot to download Kasane Teto's voice. So I used Defoko again. This time it's ABC. It's too fast and sorta out of tune I think but I'm too lazy and tired to do any edits. I'm can't play the piano anyway... I'm just gonna shut down now. The excitement from watching 2012 drained my energy away.

一・二・九!

Celebrating Yat Hong and Keroro's birthday~!

First thing in the morning, we (Yat Hong, Yat Sun, Abigail, Yong Ken, Yu Beng, Priscilla, Megdalene, Luke, Benjamin, Huey Teck, Hen Yu, Melvin, Joshua, Chia Kuui, I think some more people... and I) gathered at The BU Community Hall and played basketball from 7 to 9. Then we sat down in the hall and Yat Hong, Yat Sun and I played Pokemon. Later, we (Yat Hong, Marcus, Yu Beng, Yong Ken, Joshua and I) walked to 1Utama. The first place we headed to was the cinema and we bought our tickets for 2012. Guess what?! We bought almost the whole row of seats! Some unknown guy sits in between all of us at seat H03. Haha. We then had brunch at Wong Kwok Cha Chan Theng. There, the two Yats and I unleashed our inner child when we got to experience the wonders of the Wi-Fi application on our Pokemon games. I put a Carvanha up for trade over the Wi-Fi but I don't think anybody would want it since it's nothing much special about it.

After lunch, we went bowling. I sucked at the first game but then I manage to get two strikes in a row in the second game. We met Han Shen and Eugene on the way to the bowling alley and also Luke and Benjamin with their mom at the bowling alley. After the game, we headed to Anime Tech because I wanted to buy Yat Hong's birthday present. Then we (or rather me) speed back to the cinema after we hanged out at Jusco. The following is my review or rather whatever I want to express about 2012.

"Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, but the word "beautiful" itself cannot express how beautiful 2012 was. The crumbling of the buildings, the breaking of the roads, the destruction of the land, it was so very beautiful at every roar of what we call, Judgement Day. I can't help myself but to tremble and shake with excitement! I wanted to jump up, pump my fists into the air and scream at the top of my lungs, "WHOO!". I was almost in tears because it's beauty called "destruction" was overwhelming. I had a huge smile on my face as I watched California crumble under the earth, Yellowstone erupt, Las Vegas in pieces and Hawaii surrounded by volcanoes and magma. I really lost my breath and only got to take in some sips of air when the boring heart to heart talks came in. Imagine, I was sweating in that air-conditioned cinema! I thought I could not eat any more popcorn because of my heavy meal during brunch but I wolfed down the whole box of large popcorn in a blink of an eye! But all good things always come to an end, near the ending of the movie was not as exciting as the middle part of the movie but the part where Jackson dived into the water to remove the cable stuck between the gears in the hydraulic chamber was also exciting but no match for the destruction of the world but still heart racing. Another beautiful part was the ending where the last remanding humans watch the Sun in the horizon in the seemingly corner-less sea. This movie has just made The Day After Tomorrow second in my best "end of the world" movie list and also made itself number one in my best movie list. I wanna watch 2012 again! I rate this five stars! WHOO!"

Later we went back to Jusco and looked at ties and similer stuff for prom. Marcus told me I should wear a vest because it suits me. Good idea! I'm gonna get a vest. Yeah! My mom said that she can get free tickets for 2012! Whoo-hoo! I get to watch 2012 again! Die! Die! Die! Muahahaha!!

*Pictures coming in soon.

It's Over! Run, Forrest, Run!

After SPM is officially over for (some of) us, Wei Xin, Leon, Yi Han, Ju Vern (It's Ju Vern! Awesome!) and I went to The Curve for dinner together. We met up outside Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and then went in and venture ourselves to a dinner of amazement and awesome food. After the wonderful meal, we headed to Bentley's Music and feast our eyes on the tonnes of musical instruments here and there. I was blown away by Xin's drumming and we saw a piano that can use your voice to play! We met Yu Beng there who was buying a new guitar. It was simply awesome! This outing was really really awesome! I can't really describe it in words! Awesome!

And that was a lot of "awesome"s.

A Moment With UTAU

Today Yong Ken showed me that we can get UTAU for free! And he also sent me two of his tests sounds (not music, haha.). So I downloaded it as well and started learning on how to use it. It was a fun experience even though I had to restart my computer two times to change the computer in Japanese and the UTAU is all in Japanese! So I can't really understand everything on the toolbar. I had a go and I made a song, which is the only song I can play because UTAU uses a keyboard-like format to make songs. The song I made was Do-Re-Mi from the musical movie, The Sound Of Music. It kinda sucks and UTAU runs using Japanese so the English words that came out are very Japanese. Also, the length of the notes and the timing aren't so nicely arrange because, duh, I just learned how to use it. Even so, listening to it makes me happy because it's my first time succeeding in something using something so amazing! I used Defoko (the default UTAU-loid on UTAU) and I'm wanting to download other voices. If you maybe wanna try and listen to the Do-Re-Mi I made feel free to tell me but don't forget that I said it doesn't sound so good. Haha.

One Last Paper

...and here I am, blasting my brain cells off with the computer. I have forgotten most of the things I have learned in school and my brain is starting to activate my drawing pad. Hope I can survive Chemistry this coming Tuesday without stressing my head off trying to recall what I learned. And...

Aaaahhhh!!! The drawing pad is stressing itself out! I have to draw! But what?! Lot's are going through my mind. I think I'll make another post for that.
