コミク・フィエスタ 二〇〇九

IT WAS A BLAST!! IT WAS FILLED WITH COSPLAYERS!! IT WAS AWESOME!! IT WAS PWNSOME!! IT WAS CANNOTBEEXPRESSEDINWORDS!!

Day 1
I did not go in the morning because I had to help my mom out at her language center of their Christmas party but I manage made it there around 2. I was excited about going to Comic Fiesta because for so many years (two years actually...) I had always wanted to attend Comic Fiesta but I never did get the chance to go. I couldn't find the convention hall at first and had to call Chia Kuui many times before finding him and getting there.

The moment I went up the escalator, my mind turned into a happy and cheerful grassy land with sunshine, rainbows, bunnies and most of all, COSPLAYERS!! ROAR!! I always get excited when I see cosplayers so I started shacking in excitement and Chia Kuui had to drag me to the ticket counter to obtain our tickets. I gave the lady at the counter my receipts and she handed us the tickets for both Day1 and Day2 and some papers regarding information on Comic Fiesta. After that, whee~ I took my camera out and Jian-Yong's Amazing Comic Fiesta Adventure begun! (oh, with Chia Kuui of course)

After letting the security help us put on our tickets, Chia Kuui and I entered the insert-some-words-better-than-'amazing' hall filled with cosplayers and anime-manga related stuff. There was a stage performance going on with the MCs making lame jokes. Of course, I did not bother about that because cosplayers and doujins are more awesome! Kuui and I started going around asking permissions to take pictures and snapping away. We also tried to look for Mae Yen because she told us at Denise's Christmas party that she has a doujin booth but we did not see them. Turned out they were the booth that had the "away for lunch" sign the whole time we were at the booths. We met Aaron San, a senior of ours there. We watched the stage performance when a bunch of cosplayers were singing some songs and then dancing Cirno's Perfect Math Classroom dance.

Later when the event was about to finish, Kuui and I had early dinner at 1901. We got lost at the Sunway Pyramid anyway... When we got back to the hall, the event had ended and everybody was starting to pack up and leave. We met Chee Meng, Alex and Justin there. Turned out they had a doujin booth!

I love this awesome Noface. His costume is awesome!

Hatsune Miku~

Tobi

I love this Sasori's puppet. It can actually move! The Sasori cosplayer just twist and pull some strings and the puppet moves! How awesome is that?!

Hollow Ichigo

The newer Hollow Ichigo

Clone Trooper at work? Haha.

Day 2
This day was my the day I cosplay for my first time. Before I head to sleep, I had messaged everybody (my friends) who's going to Comic Fiesta telling them to gather at McDonald's so that I can pick them all up at the same place as we were carpooling. I woke up at 7 to get dressed. I took a shower, dried my hair with the hair drier, put on my school uniform with a red t-shirt under the school shirt (which I borrowed from my sister) and woke my mom up so that she can help me color spray my hair. After that, I grabbed my baseball bat and my dad and I left for Centerpoint McDonald's. When we got there, I got out, received questions from the guys, rushed them into the car and off we go~ The guys were: Yat Hong, Yong Ken, Chia Kuui, Yat Sun and Kin Yen.

We got there early and because Ken decided to come at the last minute and I failed at buying the ticket for Sun, Sun went to line up at the ticket counter to buy two tickets for the both of them. After some hanging around because the event for Day2 have not started yet and some "ooh"s and "aah"s at some cosplayers, the ticket counter people started a count down for the opening of the ticket counters and then when they finished, the everybody cheered. Haha. That was kinda exciting. When Sun came back with the tickets, we went to line up at the entrance. We met with Mae Yen there. Yay~ This time we can see her doujin booth~ After we got in, I followed Yati around because it's his first time there. After some quick glances, I dragged him with me to search for Mae Yen's booth. We found here straight away as we entered the doujin booth area because there were still not that many people around. I then found out that Chee Meng, Alex, Julian and Justin were in the same booth as Mae Yen! Gosh... Mae Yen was excited because of my cosplay and she took some pictures with me. Yay~ My first time taking a picture as a anime character~

Mae Yen soon left to sign up for the singles cosplay competition so I followed Yati around again to look at stuff. SenzO left us to explore on his own. The MCs from yesterday started to give away free gifts to people who answered their lame questions and the stage activities started to warm up as more people arrived.

Soon, people and cosplayers started to swarm the place. This time, I brought money so I manage to buy some stuff. Because I was cosplaying, Kuui decided to help me take pictures with my camera and he also carried my bag (Ken carried it for me at first until he gave up because it started to get heavy from the stuff he and I bought). Abigail and Denise called me at the same time saying that they have come. I thought they were in the mall so I went out there and tried to look out for them. Turned out the both of them were at the entrance at the hall even though they did not come from the same vehicle. So when I found Abby first who followed Kuui and then Denise and her mom who were already with Mae Yen. Denise followed Mae Yen to the toilet so that she can change to her shinigami costume. I then went and hanged around the stores. Denise and Mae Yen soon came back and after that, we walked around looking at stuff and cosplayers. Soon, Kuui came back telling me my camera knocked out. Damn! I should have recharged the batteries. I was so disappointed later because there were many, and I really mean many, awesome cosplayers that came (Black Rock Shooter!! Nooo!!!).

After some time, Denise had to go home because of her leg injury so we said goodbye and she left with her mom. So I went back in. There was nothing going on on stage at that time but as I was walking to Mae Yen's doujin booth, Abracadabra by the Brown Eyed Girls came on. As I reached the doujin booth area, Tell Me by the Wonder Girls came on and I saw many cosplayers/doujinkas dancing! Of course, since I'm the hyper kind of person, I was half dancing as I was walking to the booth and when I got there, Mae Yen was dancing too. Haha. Music is surely a magical thing. There was this group of girl doujinkas who stood on their chairs and danced. Soon, the MCs who were at the DJ booth called them to the stage and then Abracadabra came on. The girls strut their stuff and the crowd (that soon gathered, with me and my group of friends in it) cheered. Some cosplayers joined them as they were dancing. After the dance, the single cosplay competition secondary round started (oh, at some point of the day which I have forgotten, I watched the single cosplay competition primary round, Mae Yen was out in the secondary round). Half way through the show, Abby called and asked if we wanted to have lunch. I then noticed that I was hungry so after asking Yati and Sun (who were with me) we gathered outside the hall. SenzO and Ken stayed to watch the competition.

We all headed to the Jusco food court to have, what can I say? A HEAVILY PRICED BULLSHIT MEAL! I had this small piece of lamb chop, a small pile of veges and tiny fries for 15 bucks! What the shit is that?! The most not-worth-it meal I had in December! Ken later joined us for lunch.

We went back to the hall and we separated again. This time I helped Mae Yen watch over her booth since I got nothing to do and Julian, Chee Meng, Justin and Alex are no where to be seen. Sitting there was some how exciting because it's a doujin booth and it's my first time in a doujin booth. Yati, Sun and Ken had nothing to do so they stood around the booth, blocking the front... So I shooed them away so that other people can see the booth. The booth is really sad actually. They had some home made clay figures, some paper emoticons on sticks and their doujin work on sale but nobody's really looking. Duh! The other booths around are so much awesome! I decided to draw some pictures to maybe get some people to look at the booth but Ken had to butt in and draw pictures in my book too so I just let him draw since we are like drawing partners. I sat there for some time and then I got really bored. So I left when Julian and the others came back and went to join the crowd to watch the stage performances.

I can't really remember what happened after that but when the event was coming to it's end, I joined all the other cosplayers on stage and did the Caramelldansen. Later, we all gathered outside the hall and did a headcount: Kuui, Ken, Yati, Sun, SenzO, Abby, Julian, me. Then we exited Sunway Pyramid and crossed the overhead bridge to Kuui's mom's car. Abby sat in the front seat with Kuui's mom and SenzO, Julian and I squeezed in the boot. It was surprisingly comfortable actually. Kuui's mom dropped us at Centerpoint McDonald's and we said our goodbyes and thus Comic Fiesta 2009 has come to an end. This year (since it's 2010 already), I must go there again! All of us are gonna be cosplaying! Whoo-hoo!!

Oh, I did not say who I was cosplaying right? I was Maebara Keiichi from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Not many knew about it. I was really disappointed. Only one stranger took a picture with me!
